Hy Guys,
First, congratulations to your wife, Bill.
I, too, am a naturalized citizen. I was born in Germany & spent a substantial part of my childhood there. My father was an American soldier stationed there, but because my parents weren’t married at the time of my birth, I was not conferred with U.S. Citizenship at birth (the laws have since changed). My parents eventually married & when my mom applied for citizenship, she also filed for me. We kept missing out, however, because dad would get stationed overseas again before US residency requirements were met. Long story short, I eventually had to file for citizenship myself when I became an adult. Though my dad was American & though I was actively serving in the Marine Corps, I had to wait in line, sit for interviews, pay the fees, take the test with everyone else. I had no issue with this. But it offends me to the extreme that others now expect to move to the front, skip all vetting & have citizenship (& generous welfare benefits) handed to them on a silver platter. I sympathize with those wishing to seek a better life for themselves, but the American Dream cannot survive when the first acts on US soil by so many are to violate her core principles.
Anyway, best wishes to you and your wife, Bill.
Zoe & Bill, keep up the good work & Semper Fi!

It should be noted that Australia has all the same safeguards and questions that the USA immigration system has but is half as expensive and takes half the time. We did not have one party blocking reforms and demanding open borders as much.

People get heaven wrong. There is nothing you can do to get there. It is a free gift. All salvation, all evangelism and all the law it to teach you how to live there.
It is hell that they work so hard to get to. Hell is where God is not. It is God grants the rebel his absence. It lacks his mercy and his providence so it becomes a terrible place. Pain and hunger without the relief of death or end.
People who reject God go to hell. They have chosen it and evangelism or moral teaching ensures they know they are there by their own choice. They rejected the true God.

Illegals want what the USA has not what it is. They flee crime, poverty and tyranny but they bring the things that cause third world or Islamic crime, poverty and tyranny with them in their baggage.
Legal immigrants come seeking what it is not just what it has. Natasha is the proof that Russians can understand freedom and find it and take it to their heart. Proof the Putin is wrong when he says Russians can’t be just, free and responsible and must be ruled by the Kremlin. She is Hope for both her nations.

Welcome Natasha! My husband and daughter in law went through the immigration process, studied, and know more about the workings of the US than most people. Our worst experience was dealing with the IRS, showing we had paid them every penny we owed (due to income streams in 3 countries). My son, born and raised abroad (dual), emigrated here shortly after my husband and I did, and holds his American citizenship as something almost holy. We continue to enjoy our Scottish customs, but Hogmanay has been superceded by Independence day as THE best holiday of the year. America just got a little bit better when Natasha was sworn in.

The hard core progressives driving the train aren’t under as much of an illusion as the students who had it drilled into their heads by them … who know nothing else — who think that criticizing someone’s opinion robs the criticized of free speech, for instance.

It’s a great reminder to us citizens of the United States that we have something so unique that we sent generations around the world to share it. FREEDOM!

Bill, congratulations to Natasha. My wife is from Shanghai, took her oath to the US 15 years ago after the 5 year wait. What pisses me off is this. I was digging thru papers the other day and found her daughter’s first application – dated November 2012. She is STILL waiting. Tens-of-thousands of dollars paid to immigration lawyers and fees, and they every time she asks for an update she gets the same answer: “Soon now. Only about another 2-3 years.”
BTW, we were indoors, and as the new citizens exited the auditorium that had to walk a veritable gauntlet off democrat party agents physically pulling them aside to sign them up as democrats. About 7 or 8 tables. On the other side (the right side of the room exiting the auditorium) was ONE GOP table and only 1 small, elderly woman manning it.
Ever wonder how democrats get away with some of the stuff they do?

I think Bill and Zo just defined American Exceptionalism.
It is not that American citizens are better than others around the globe, we are the same.
What make America Exceptional (i.e. an exception to the norm) is that the laws of America make it possible for each citizen to rise to their own level of achievement based upon their own abilities and effort.

Man, oh man (if I’m allowed to say that these days) I LOVE me some Bill and Zo talking about American exceptionalism and the pride of ownership some of us actually feel for our great nation and it’s founding. I could feel the happiness you mentioned all the way on the other coast, here in S. Florida.. Congratulations to Natasha.
The aged, dented vehicle metaphor was brilliant. Now we just need to do one of those Chip Foose type restorations on this baby, and not to make it into a museum piece, but to make it our daily driver for the next 250 years.

Bill was talking about the “melting pot” which is a concept that I whole heartedly agree with. Meanwhile, the Left abhors the melting pot.

I recall, back in the 60’s I think, a PBS show called American Mosaic. Essentially, it was a promotion of the idea that America is not a melting pot, but instead is a “mosaic” of many other cultures, each one separate but equal.

This idea, although it might sound nice, is very destructive because it divides us into as many little divisions as possible. It is a divide and conquer strategy on a very large scale and has been going on for decades.

A friend from Canada one time told me that one of the big differences between the US and Canada is that Canada does not consider itself a melting pot but as you mentioned, a mosaic. They are proud of the fact that they are a conglomeration of different, competing cultures and no unity. I see that happening to the USA more and more everyday.
The other thing I find interesting from this friend is when asked why he came to the US he will immediately say that he was tired of working hard and having the government take the lion’s share of his income away from him in the form of taxes. Then he will turn around and espouse the belief in things must be done if it is for the “greater good”. When combined those are the most frightening 2 words in the English language. Essentially he still believes that socialism is good as long as he, personally does not have to pay for it.
On a side note, he has no interest in becoming an American Citizen.

Just remember the history that we have seen “recently” in Nazi Germany or in the USSR. These bad actors WERE eventually overcome, but at the great expense of many innocents’ deaths. Why would it be any different now? Unless you think that the character of “Americans” today measures up to the character of the “Greatest Generation.” I think not.

Since the destruction of the Tower of Babel, it has pleased God to work through nations. At the Rapture, all nationality will be rendered meaningless, as the Antichrist (briefly) takes over. The globalists’ motives are founded in their spiritual longing for Satan’s rule.

Congratulations Natasha, well done! And while I enthusiastically agree with every point made in this segment, two things are especially on target: Nothing worth having comes easy (I’ve said it all my adult life) and don’t say you’re going to leave America if such-and-such happens, and not do it, hypocrite!

As a Nation, we have abandoned Grandma’s Rule – First you do the work, then you get the cookie – in exchange for widespread bribery directed at encouraging illegal immigration. The promise of free social services and benefits soon turns to a scheme of political and economic extortion, ever increasing the costs of maintaining a constituency that shouldn’t be here in the first place! God bless Natasha, and all that stood with her, and welcome to the newest citizens of this greatest country on earth!

I was very touched yesterday watching Bill’s wife become an American citizen. It brought back the feelings of deep gratitude that I was the first person in my family to be born in America. Both my parents came here from Germany and I am forever thankful that they did.
This reached my in another way as I realized I am a citizen of heaven with all it’s benefits because a person I cannot remember shared the salvation story with me about 85 years ago. I don’t remember ever doubting that I would spend eternity in heaven because Jesus died for me, was raised to live and planted faith in me. Thank you so much for sharing this very special event.

Great Episode Bill and congrats to Natasha. The biggest complaint I have is the amount of red tape there is to become a citizen. Keep the very same standards yet remove all the bureaucratic bull crap in the way and then we can have more legal immigration.
