Three men. Five headlines. No warning: It’s Steve Green’s Right Angle Lightning Round!
- Half of U.S. infants are on federal W.I.C. support. Are these third-world numbers?
- Drag queen crowned prom king at Indiana high school. Should s/he sue for being misgendered?
- “Twitter does not believe in free speech.” Project Veritas catches Twitter insider saying the platform censors the Right more than the Left, and everybody who works there is “commie as F***.” Bill Whittle says there’s an even greater threat that the overt throttling of conservative views.
- Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness against the Omicron variant fades after just weeks. Wanna get another shot or three?
- Washington Post editorial headlined “Russia is Losing: That Might Make Putin More Dangerous”, concludes that a negotiated cease-fire is a bad idea. They want Russia thrashed. Is it good geostrategery to play regime-change chicken with a nuclear power.

There was the question than if anyone did not need further government assistance, if they then refused it. I did just that back in the late 70’s. After my wife left me and our three children, while leaving town she wiped out our bank and savings account. One week later I was laid off from my machinist job when we didn’t get a contract from Boeing we had expected. I was then forced to apply for food stamps in order to put food on the table. I immediatly started applying for jobs, and three weeks later landed one. Within two months I was able to take care of myself and my children, and took myself off assistance, so it does happen. It is sad that we have people taking unfair advantage of the system, sometimes for generations.
Putin/Russia should not come out ahead in this no reason war with Ukraine, no gain in land or resources, and I feel Ukraine should get Crimea back. Secondly, they should be punished for the war crimes they committed and pay restoration. They acted like bullies (Putin) instead of a civilized society. Any negotiation now would only benefit Putin.
I called the IRS and declined the EIC stimulus payments. And I know a lot of other people who did the same.
They told me I couldn’t reactivate it if I changed my mind. Hmm. I wonder why they would have that kind of closed window, but it didn’t affect my and my wife’s decision.
I had thought people were going to get wrecked coming April 15th, but this administration softened what would have caused a riot among working families. I don’t know how long they can keep this up, but I’d rather not be beholden to anyone and continue to provide my own bread, so help me God.
Scott at about 12:18 — the pharmaceutical companies are trying their best to cope with something that is not easy to cope with.
Really?? Scott, wake up! The pharmaceutical companies do not care about your health. They care about making money! That’s it. If they can produce medication that treats only symptoms WITHOUT actually healing you, that means that you have to keep taking that “treatment” for years (the rest of your life?). Will you learn after taking booster no. 7? no. 8?
Getting the government stooges to push their product meant more money for big pharma. The stooges jumped on the bandwagon it because they want to control people — a marriage made in hell.
Not having read the editorial, I am uncertain as to the claims of regime change that Steve is charging.
If the US has a way to push many in the Russian Govermnment to depose Putin through internal, legal, methods and potentially arrest and turn him over to the Hague, I think they should try.
Make it clear that any nuclear attacks will be held against all of those in power so that the generals cannot just blame Putin and if he should try to issue an order to use WMD they have reasons to resist, suggest that if Putin is deposed and a new leader elected through UN monitored votes, we would drop the sanctions, though keep some kind of repayment tax to help rebuld Ukraine to stave off global economic collapse.
Yes, it does happen. We were on WIC for a couple of months when we came to America in 1990, then my husband got a job, and I called the Health and Welfare and told them to take me off their rolls, we didn’t need the help anymore. They were very surprised, insisted that I shouldn’t do that, but I was equally insistent, and they did it in the end. We were ashamed to go use those checks, Bill is so right. We came from a culture where one was supposed to work for one’s food. And what people don’t want to see is that government money always, always, comes with strings attached. You’re not free on the dole.
Steve, I’m with you on that last part. I want to see Russia beaten so badly that this never happens again, and China learns the lesson without having to experience it for themselves. But more than that, I want to see the world not turn all glowy. So… yeah, negotiation is a better call than nuclear war.
Of course, if Ukraine happens to retake Crimea, or even part of it, in the process…
Just imagine how that WIC number is affected by the slaughter of millions of innocent children.
Because it would be higher than 50% if they weren’t destroyed?
???
My point was that EVERYTHING would be going better if American hadn’t massacred over 60 million human beings since the Satan-worshiping bloodthirsty savages won Roe v. Wade.
Roe v Wade actually began with Griswald v Connecticut, and it piggy backed on the same right to privacy which claimed a person on contraception had a right to keep that information private.
But, since your views are so strong on mid to late term abortion, I would like to know your thoughts on why it is okay to abort a fully fertilized embryo by means of contraceptives that are abortifacent, in that they do NOT prevent the egg from being fertilized, but kill it by convincing the body to reject it on the basis that the body believes itself to already be pregnant and later to refuse it a lining in which to anchor, therefore denying it nutrients from the mother and she has, what appears to be, a ‘late’ period. This is how estrogen based contraceptives work. So, if billions of lives hurt, how much do trillions?
You misunderstand. The Author of life is “pro-life.” God says that life begins at CONCEPTION. It’s murder to deliberately kill a human being from conception all the way up to the end of their natural life, at say, 100 years old. (I say intentionally, because ALL honest people realize that miscarriages are OBVIOUSLY not deliberate abortions.) Finally, most people understand the fact that prior to fertilization, no human being is present. If I cut my finger off, that finger isn’t a human being, though it had it’s own “potential” to do many things before it got cut off. Contraception is an utterly irrelevant topic within the context of slaughtering innocent children in the womb. (BTW, your belief or disbelief in God exerts no influence on the facts of His existence and exercise of authority. He is and He does, whether you like it or not.)
Im always here for you guys!!!! Please continue being here for us. Thanks !!
Steve: I checked with Barf the Mawg. The proper title for the ? in Indiana is Qung. I will let myself out.
It was a lot harder to go to a church or charity or family and ask for help face to face. Now the government just transfers funds to your account. Same with food stamps at the grocery store. I remember seeing customers counting out their play money to the clerk. But that was too embarrassing, so now they get their funds put on their ebt card and no one’s the wiser.
What gets me is that you can use your ebt card at convenience stores, fast food restaurants, etc. If you can’t afford bread, eggs, peanut butter, rice, fruits and vegetables and other staples, why are you buying expensive convenience foods? Yes, I know, because they’re convenient. But the money doesn’t go as far.
Perhaps the government should send those on SNAP to cooking classes so they can learn to create healthy meals on a budget.
No, you can not buy any “hot made foods” at fast food places or any restaurants, or at any deli’s, etc. with the EBT food card. Yes you can get pizza’s at Papa John’s because you have to take it home and bake it yourself. I know this, I worked at DSHS for awhile.
However, if somebody with a EBT card is getting TANIF too, then they have a “cash” account on that card and they can buy the fast food, etc. with the cash side of the card.
Yes, but I have a sister in law who doesn’t mind buying a rack of lamb ribs for 50bucks to feed 4 and throw most of it away because she didn’t know how to cook it.
She refuses to learn how to bake a loaf of bread or prep food to freeze. My wife has offered plenty of times. We feed 10 with less than 5 bucks and none of them complain.
They shrug because they can and because it costs them nothing. Organic prices makes my eyes bleed, but they don’t even flinch.
You’re so right, I know of many on the SNAP card and they throw out a lot of food. If people got less on the card, maybe they would use it more wisely. But, what do I know.
FWIW – I really like the back and forth on each other’s question rather than just getting one person’s point on each topic. It didn’t seem to add much time to the episode either.
Bill’s exactly on point with his observation that it used to be shameful to go on the public dole. Now it seems as though it’s a status symbol. It’s cool to have your hand out and have Uncle Sugar grease your palm with some cash, preferably on a regular basis. All the cool kids are doin’ it.
An example, fictionalized in “Cinderella Man”, is when Braddock takes welfare in order to hang on to his kids. It was literally his last resort, which he broke down and accepted with great shame.
But then, when his fortunes reversed, there was that great scene where he went to the welfare office and returned the money. The look of satisfaction and vindication on actor Russell Crowe’s face was wonderful to behold.
I would guess this sequence was based in reality, it was something the real James Braddock actually did. He was that kind of guy.

Washington Compost’s idea on beating Russia might be on to something. Perhps this is the approach that the Republicans should take on the wave of the electoral slaughter that’s coming in November?
