An excellent show. I hope Virtue Signals continue on this road, as taking cheap shots at unspecified persons has resulted in an ugly crash and burn for Zoe. Let’s get over that hump and stop making enemies of friends. Ambiguity has never been the best tool in the shed for conservatism. Identify and confirm your target, then destroy; but shots in the dark can make everyone uncomfortable.
As for the LGB … yada, yada, yada folks, I simply refer to them as the Alphabet Soup people!
As far as racist history is concerned, one can do no better than to review Bill’s exceedingly well produced “Afterburner” episode from years ago entitled “Pin the Tail on the Donkey”, as it pretty well covers all the bases PERFECTLY!!!!
But if you are still in any doubt, do just as Bill recommends and “look it up”!

In 1973, I heard Alan Keyes state that LBJ’s Great Society re-enslaved blacks, taking them from the cotton plantations where they were freed after the Civil War and putting them on the Government Plantation with welfare benefits, family breakup because fathers no longer had to be responsible for their children (just like on the old cotton plantations), and dependency on the “slavemasters” of the Federal Government. I’ve never forgotten that speech and how the Democrats continually add new slaves to their plantation where it now includes Hispanics (who the heck says “Latinx”?), and all the rest of the slaves they let into our country illegally and through immigration policies that don’t help our country, but provide more slaves for their Government Plantation. I could also write about how racist the labor unions have been and are, but that would take more space than most readers would want to follow.
The Great Society “hand up, not handout” was a i good slogan, and could have worked for all if properly implemented. Sadly, as Zoe and Bill make so very clear here, demokkkrats took over running the program and destroyed the idea from the git-go.

“The Empire of Cotton” by Beckert was highly enlightening about the economics of the Civil War (as well as understanding that slavery was not a foundational problem of our country. It was planted here by England and Spain and we struggled to get out of it, first by declaring all men deserve to be equal and then – finally – getting out from under it with the Civil War.) 60% of the economy was cotton in the pre-Civil War USA. You add rice, tobacco, etc and the money was in slavery. That’s why the South tried to get England, the birthplace of abolitionists, to enter the Civil War on their side. Manchester alone lost around 1.1 million jobs in the manufacture of goods from that cotton due to the Civil War, crippling England’s economy.

Thanks for that. I was under the impression (because that’s what I heard on TV) that Juneteenth was a commemoration of the slaves in Texas were truly freed. So I thought it was a Texas thing, so why should it be a national holiday? So now I have been set straight, and I’m fine with the national holiday.
