Only through truth can you have a proper life. When you hear truth, it comes across as profound. When you hear lies, the believability of the statement doesn’t sit well, and if you chose to follow the lie it leads to destructive changes in your personality. What cures personality disoders is truth.
As long as consciousness emerged in human beings, we’ve struggled with understanding our cosmic significance. If you come to the conclusion that our human consciousness is related to the cosmos, learning that truth is where the foundation of your consciousness resides.
That is why we think of God is as the truth.
If you believe there is nothing greater than you are, then there is also nothing greater than I am, and there’s nothing outside of either of us that says it would be wrong for one of us to slay the other. Nothing.
As soon as you say “ah, but…” and point to something outside of the two of us that says it’s wrong, then you have to ask where that thing came from. And maybe what that thing is.
And if you then try to explain it away as merely an evolution of customs developed over thousands and thousands of years … you’re back to the same place.
Is it “good” to follow those customs? What makes that good? Why should I follow them? Who is to say I am objectively WRONG … to defy them?
And if you then try to point to something outside of you, me, and this set of customs … where did THAT come from?

If you’ve deflected up to and past this point, you can just stop lecturing me about ANYTHING now, because what you’re saying is that there is no objective way to judge me, my beliefs, my behavior … nothing. You’ve argued any support for your superiority right out from under you.
