Right Angle: Backstage (08-02-2022)

Bill Whittle, Steve Green and Scott Ott try to coexist with the new Jurassic World movie on the same planet, but find that either we, or the film, have to go. Is this a metaphor about our divided Republic, or just another lame re-boot?

Are we talking about Jurassic World, or Right Angle Backstage? Unclear.

Thanks for your willing suspension of disbelief.

“Playing out the hand you were dealt” is great advice. In my opinion, social media is allowing the whiners to whine and attention-bating. It also gives the sympathy to flow from those who live to do that.

Re: 9/11/2001 – While just less than 3000 were killed during the event itself, the actual death toll as a result of its aftermath pushes far past 3000. Our Urban Search & Rescue Task Force, which was among the 26 US&R TFs which worked alongside FDNY and NYPD personnel in the response, has experienced at least 3 deaths which can be directed attributed to their exposure to the toxic atmosphere in the aftermath of the collapses. From my conversations with the local US&R TF leader, there are thousands more personnel who have contracted cancer, lung diseases and other medical conditions as a result of their response to the incident.

DC Fontana, a woman writer on the Original Trek.

Deep Space 9 even had something of an homage to her with the episode where Sisko is having a prophet dream as a black sci-fi author during the forties/fifties.

I know someone who is in hiding (as former military) about 2 KM from that event that killed Zawahiri. I don’t know anything about how the missiles work, but he and his family were awakened by a very loud explosion.

Scott, thank you so much for taking care of the IP problem. I was blocked from posting a comment the other day with a notice that my email address was not valid. I did not try to rectify the problem or complain as I figured it was just a temporary glitch. You all are first class folks.

I concur. I have interacted with Scott numerous times with similar glitches and he is such a gentleman.

Bill, there are two signs of old age. One is your memory starts to go, and I can’t remember the other.
George Takai’s hatred for Bill Shatner finally became clear to me when I found out he was a pervert. Since the Kirk character was the quintessential hyper-heterosexual, Takai is obviously a heterophobe.
This “traumatize children” idiot probably thinks slaughtering them in the womb is just fine.

Yeah Scott…thanks for keeping up on that (hyper paranoid web host..lol) issue. I found I can rectify the situation, if I delete the cookie. I was one of those you spent a few weeks of emails on it. I was considering pulling out, but your diligence in the matter changed my mind.

I try to remember to turn off my VPN, but it usually works fine with it on…for a while anyway. It’s mostly the NYC IP address’ that get flagged it seems. While it’s annoying to have to delete the cookie and log back on, just to post one comment, it’s tolerable enough because I dig you guys. lol.

Oh…it was really weird that it wouldn’t let me post a .jpg when I’ve posted them so many times before. It did let me post a .png instead though. IDK what’s up with that.

The software developer replied to my trouble ticket and asked that I roll back to the previous version until they can fix the bug. I did, and I’m still manually tracking each issue and whitelisting the folks who get falsely blacklisted.

That was me Scott. I didn’t know that Youtube had ownership of a lot of your videos. You misunderstood some though. As I said, “Fortune favors the bold.” But if you’d lose all your videos, then walk on eggshells until you get copies of them all. Then, don’t be afraid to push back. It is what made Bongino and Crowder more popular.

All the rest, I pretty much already know. Scott told me about why this show is still on BlueTube. Don’t get me wrong, you guys are way ahead of many by what you’ve done with using Rumble. It’s one of the reasons I became a paying member…that and bring our buddy Zo on.

Bill, your dry sense of humor always gets me. Like the time on the Stratosphere Lounge, many years ago…where you mentioned wanting to transition to a woman…lol…but William Shatner getting into Heaven for an interracial kiss…you really had me there. At first, I was like…”has Bill ever even read the Bible?” Hahaha…good one.

I’m glad to see this one worked, Roger. I’m working with the software developer to fix an acknowledged bug on their part. Meantime, I’m manually whitelisting the victims.

I first saw the coexist logo years ago, it has always struck me as more like this…

My favorite 1 hr+ of the week.
Bill’s expression when he saw a photo or video of the R9X was like a little kid on Christmas morning opening an AR-15., one with the orange cap! šŸ˜‰

First off hosting all the videos on Rumble is a brilliant move it protects the content while remaining on YouTube is the best way to reach the widest audience is really a no brainer. Looking forward to all the content this week.

I’d never heard of the AGM-114RX9 missile before either, so don’t feel too special Bill. It’s hard even for a military buff to keep up on everything.

So I went and looked it up and sure enough, it’s a flying switchblade with one meter long knives that deploy from the missile body.

This thing reminds me of the mechanical broadheads I use for turkey hunting. Normal mechanical broadheads (broadhead points for arrows, or in this case crossbow bolts) use a mechanism (hence “mechanical”) that holds the blades tight to the arrow shaft diameter until contact at which point the blades deploy and spread out to cause a very substantial wound channel. The kind you use for deer have a deployed span of around 2 inches give or take depending on the brand. The kind made for turkey have a deployed blade span of around 8 inches.

As soon as any part of the broadhead touches something solid (like a turkey) it opens up and there is some serious slicing action. Usually I go for headshots and these things generally cut the head clean off. This is a very humane end for the turkey which basically feels nothing at all. One minute it’s a turkey walking around doing turkey stuff and the next second it’s dinner.

So the only complaint I have about the AGM-114RX9 “flying ginsu” is that it is perhaps too humane. A swift and painless death is more than these animals, talking about terrorists not turkeys, deserve.

Your comment “a turkey walking around doing turkey stuff” cracked me up!

I would suspect that the Lefties who are trumpeting the “Let’s eliminate childhood trauma by eliminating all the things” are the same ones who see no issue with sending children to Drag Queen Story Hour or teaching about sex in pre-school. Keep them in masks, but make sure their eyes and ears are open to the ‘education’ the Lefties want to pour in.

Hey guys, you need to figure out a way to let members know what time you are going on line live. Last night I waited up until 10:00 CDT to watch you live. Finally ran out of patience and shut it down. PLEASE figure a way to let us know WHAT TIME!!!

We never do Right Angle Backstage Live. We record every episode, and usually post it Tuesday night, or early Wednesday at the latest.

Um, the only live streams that get done are MBTA on Tuesday mornings, generally around 12:00 am Eastern Time and the Stratosphere Lounge on Thursday evenings at 9:00 pm Eastern Time.

You can also join the Discord that Marushia has set up and we have a bot that posts a notice to the live stream channel whenever Bill goes live on Twitch. I do post updates there and on my member blog here if a scheduled stream is being rescheduled since I keep an eye out for Bill saying so on the Book of Faces. Additionally, if you subscribe to his Twitch channel, you should get an alert via email when he goes live there.

It’s been said before but you guys should do a regular movie review feature episode.

I like and watch Critical Drinker’s reviews but I don’t always agree with his take on a movie. It seems to me that sometimes in his reviews he didn’t even watch the same movie I watched.

Movies are entertainment. That’s all they are. I want to be entertained, I don’t really care about all the rest of it.

I thought “Jurassic World: Dominion” was fun. Fun is good enough for me. Yes, the flying burning grasshoppers were stupid. The first thing to go on a flying insect when it is exposed to fire is its wings. They are the most vulnerable and easiest to burn off.

I don’t care. I want to be entertained. “Dominion” entertained me. There are movies I’ve watched recently do not entertain me (Looking at you, Bruce Willis, and your recent phoned-in roles) and I’d like a heads up on real, genuine stinkers so I can avoid them.

In case you didn’t know, Bruce Willis is now retired due to a medical issue that prevented him from being able to remember his lines. For the last few he made, they had a comms device in his ear and they fed him his lines. It’s sad, as I’ve really enjoyed him over the years. The original Die Hard is still one of my favorites. Best Christmas move ever!

Yes, I did know that but … That’s no excuse for piss poor movies being promoted simply because they have Bruce Willis’ name attached to them.

Bruce’s role was minimal in the movies I’m talking about and they never would have seen the light of day without him. Meaning even if they got made no one would have heard of them. (Except maybe “Midnight in the Switchgrass”, that one wasn’t terrible.) They were low grade “B” movies. He should have passed rather than let them use him as a headliner. His acting and the movies were both pathetic. I find it hard to believe that Bruce Willis needs money so badly he’d do such a thing just for a paycheck.

Getting old and having “medical issues” is part of life. I can’t do a lot of the things I once did either. The difference is I know better than to try and make a fool of myself.

Someone who grows up without overcoming adversity is like a car without shock absorbers, tending to fall apart on a bumpy road , perhaps that explains todays snowflake infestation.

What needs to happen regarding YouTube (I know this is a pipedream but hear me out) is that everyone who has any ability to use other sites use them instead of YouTube. There is a chome/brave/firefox extension to take you to the odysee version of a video if it exists which I highly recommend.

She was running away from a dinosaur wearing high heels — How the dinosaur got into the high heels I’ll never know. (Thanks, Groucho!)

When I reviewed the video, that’s exactly what I thought.
I’m off to shoot an elephant in my pajamas.
