Right Angle: Backstage (08-09-2022)

Another slow news week in our placid Republic leaves the men of Right Angle with very nearly nothing to talk about for more than an hour.

This was an obvious disagreement, and once again I am nowhere near as forgiving or gracious about people as Mr. Ott — especially people with power over others.
Aggregate human behavior is definitely like gravity in that it is predictable. Individual human behavior is not like gravity — it is typically unpredictable. Unfortunately, the Left is an aggregation of human behavior — a collective one might say — and it is definitely predictable. The Left is currently in control of the Democrat Party, and it has been obvious to any rational observer that the Left — throughout the past century — has abhorred all opposition to its total authoritarian control of humanity. The incessant attacks on DJT over the past several years have established the pattern that he is a threat to that control.
Believe what you want, but Bill Whittle’s (and that of one of DJT’s attorneys, Christina Bobb) assessment will bear out as truth, if the facts are ever revealed, that this was just another political hack job, which was intent upon political theater and disqualifying DJT from holding any political office in the future.

I’ll bet “they” will take the said documents and “plant” documents that should not be with them to hurt Trump! They are that corrupt!

The discussion about biographies and historical figures really reminds me of all the right-leaning people these days who are going off on Lincoln for being, in their words, the most evil tyrant that America has ever known. Most of these people seem to be getting their information from a single book written by Libertarian historian Thomas J. Dilorenzo titled The Real Lincoln: A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War (having looked up the title on Amazon it seems like he has a lot of books under a similar theme).
I really can’t help but think that this sentiment isn’t just damaging to the party, but is just plain wrong. And I’m not just saying that because Dilorenzo has been criticized for taking quotes completely out of context. It makes me really hope that one day Bill takes up the torch and does a historical series on Lincoln that will get to the truth of the matter.

Mincemeat was about the invasion of Sicily, not France, they used the body of a drunk not and officer, they dumped it in the Mediterranean from a sub to have it wash up on a beach in Spain.

and novelized in a book I have.. I think from the 60s, called The Man Who Never Was.

i have an audiobook just called Operation Mincemeat, great story, so cool that one of the guys involved was Ian Fleming

Bill how did you manage to get nearly every detail about operation mincemeat wrong, parenthetically there is an excellent movie made about it on Netflix, with Colin Firth.

Steve, your example of the Iphone , China and Scale, and with regards to Scott’s question of why not assemble here. I’ll give you a first hand example of scale. One of the factories I work with is near another factory which supplies an important sub assembly to Foxconn, the famous factory for Iphone assembly. To get from the freeway to our own factory, the roads are such that the shortest way from the freeway to our place…you must pass this Foxconn sub assembly plant. That’s just fine in the morning and afternoon. But, to get from our factory to the main town to get lunch at a restaurant, you must avoid that particular road at all costs. Just before lunch, workers at this sub assembly plant begin crossing the road to the company’s food court. IF you get caught , you will be in a traffic jam of gridlock proportions. My local co worker there told me there are 20,000 to 30,000 workers crossing the road to eat. then, they turn around and head back to work. Imagine Coors field letting everyone out at ONE gate, and crossing Blake Street in Denver single file, eating, then reversing direction and heading back to work. Since it’s rather frowned upon for you to run over workers crossing the street, my lunches involved driving way out of our way around this factory to grab a decent meal at lunch.
Point of all this is, yes, it IS indeed SCALE. 30,000 workers, one sub assembly factory for one Iphone part. Think we’re going to get that many workers in San Jose CA to assemble electronic components? Yeah….Nope…Yes, it’s EPA. Yeah it’s wages and taxes and equity and inclusion and diversity and all of that which forces companies to Asia. But SCALE is a huge driver to being there.

Ok. I finished the episode..
I’m going with Mr. Green on this one.. .that escalated quickly.
Looks like someone in the trio was channeling Bob Conrad with an Eveready battery on his shoulder.
I’ll chalk that up as a good guy having a very bad day.
In the aggregate, Right Angle, is so good that 1 show with some warts is entirely worth the hundreds or thousands by now of great, informative and thoughtful shows.

The above meme still stands. Took a while to find her, kept searching for “Leave Barrack Alone” memes. A google image search (rather helpful) brought me to the “Leave Britney Alone” photos. I’d never used Google images uploads before… rather helpful.

In reference to the “Rings of Power” Amazon series …

I’m a huge Tolkien fan. I’ve read the trilogy at least two dozen times. I read The Hobbit to my boys at bedtime when they were too young to read for themselves and they subsequently became huge Tolkien fans also. I have The Hobbit and the trilogy in collectors edition leatherbound boxed sets sitting on my shelf given to me by my little sister one Christmas. I have a hard copy of the Silmarillion and have read that at least a dozen times. Etc.

I’m no stranger to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien so I’ll reserve further comment for Bill’s episode on “Rings of Power”. I’m looking forward to that one very much.

I love those stories but I also love the way Tolkien applies language just as much. It’s also a funny thing how these are “fantasy” genre Sword and Sorcery type stories that contain very little actual direct depictions of magic.

Usually applications of magic in fantasy are a cheap mechanism for the author to make some plot line work out. In the works of J.R.R Tolkien the entire world is magic but so subtly done that you can miss a lot of it if you’re not looking for it.

The trilogy especially is so well crafted and such an absorbing story that you can miss some of the depth too. I don’t think I’ve ever re-read the trilogy and didn’t find something I wasn’t aware of, or had not noticed, before.

In the matter of the heated discussion that took up most of the beginning of this episode …

Scott’s right. We all know the old saw about the word “assume” broken down to making an ass out of you and me. Assumptions are dangerous and should be applied sparingly if at all. However …

Bill is right. The historic behavior of Democrats has moved the needle on the scale significantly from neutral towards suspicion and away from trust.

This is a serious problem with perspective these days. We’re many of us caught in what Greg Gutfeld calls “the prison of two extremes” where it must be one thing, it cannot be another thing and there’s no way it’s somewhere between those two things.

Real life doesn’t actually work like that. Very few things are so simple that you can be justifiably certain of an extreme. If you think your suspicions are a certainty then you’re blind to anything that does not confirm your suspicion. This is a phenomena known as “confirmation bias” and it’s dangerous. Sadly, unlike Bill who will if confronted with evidence modify his position there are just to many bullheaded mulish stubborn people on both sides who will not do that. There are examples of such here on this site if you look for them.

I think Bill’s absolutely right to say there are grounds for suspicion. Trust is a hard thing to gain, an easy thing to lose, and almost impossible to regain once lost. The Democrat Party has certainly done so many shenanigans in its quest to remain relevant and retain power that they are rightfully the constant target of suspicion now. However, suspicion is not fact.

Scott is also absolutely right to say that these are early days in the saga of this Trump raid situation and to withhold pronouncing any judgement regarding the other side until more facts are in.

It’s not that Scott is sticking up for the other side, he’s not and neither am I. It’s that Scott is sticking up for facts and Bill is sticking up for making the Democrats wear the poison garments they have sewn for themselves. Both positions are reasonable. Both are well founded and justified.

It’s the other side that makes a habit of generalization about our side. They’re the ones who claim that because there might be a racist somewhere in America and they are “anti-racist” (by dint of creating racism where there is none) then therefore we who oppose them on any grounds must all be racists too. That’s a trap but one that cannot hold because it’s built on a lie. We have to be very careful in our righteous ire not to build the same kind of trap and suffer the same exposure of duplicity that will result when the house of cards falls down.

The far Left elements that have hijacked the Democrat Party are doing a dandy job of destroying the whole party. We need to let them do that while at the same time not using identical tactics which will result in our identical destruction.

This is a very, very dangerous time in the history of the Republic. We need to bear in mind and never forget what the enemies of our Republic have done to attack it but if we do the same thing they do, the flip side of their coin, we will harm our own cause more than they ever could.

Because while they play the strategic long game infiltrating all of our institutions they are very, very short sighted in their tactics. Harry Reid’s “nuclear option” when flipped on the Democrats put three conservative Supreme Court Justices on the bench and directly resulted in Roe v. Wade being overturned. That was an unmitigated disaster for the Democrats. The Democrats in their shortsightedness striving for immediate advantage didn’t see that coming yet they are directly responsible for the conditions that caused it. That’s an example of giving them as good as they gave for better motives and better tactics. They have no complaint, they caused the circumstances that yielded this result.

They’re doing it again. Joe Biden has a serious criminal entanglement with his son Hunter and the probability of foreign influence peddling. Another word for “peddling” is “selling” or “marketing”. That’s illegal corruption and when Joe leaves office he will be subject to the same treatment the Dems are now lavishing on Trump but with more facts on our side. They have opened the door to raiding and possibly prosecuting a former President and in the long run that will be a huge mistake.

Well said. I hadn’t had the time to put thought to word, now I don’t feel like I need to.
As Steve frequently says, embrace the healing power of AND.

Thank you, it’s always helpful to get encouragement and approval from people I respect. You and Road Rider are people I respect. I don’t give a flying rat’s patoot about what people I don’t respect think. They’re not respectable so who cares?

Scott’s position is actually a lot more complex than I said above but I needed to get my main points across without writing an entire novella. I hope he doesn’t mind me categorizing his views in an abbreviated fashion not wholly encompassing.

I always find Scott’s views worth my time because he’s a great echo chamber bubble-popper and confirmation bias smasher. Even if I don’t agree with him and to be quite frank there isn’t anyone I agree with on everything, he imparts a perspective that is useful, valuable and applicable.

Whoever brought Scott onboard this enterprise demonstrated real wisdom. Without him we could all sit around here verbal guns blazing in righteous anger and feel good about ourselves while not actually getting anywhere.

We have an overabundance of that on both sides and look where we are now.

Scott…you know the problems with your Chinese tech toys, and yet you still use them? Isn’t that something like…the definition of insanity? lol.

Oh, if you want to know a good way to rip all the BW shows from the past, off of BlueTube, I have a method that is relatively simple.

“Scott…you know the problems with your Chinese tech toys, and yet you still use them? Isn’t that something like…the definition of insanity? lol.”

Oh? And I suppose you don’t use any “Chinese tech toys” at all then, huh? Which means that the words you posted above appeared there by means of a Divine miracle because there are no “tech toys” made completely in America that will put them there. I’m sure every single item of electronics you ever had never gave you the least bit of trouble. Hypocrite much?

Whatever compels you to say such silly, mean things? I bet you don’t even know you’re being mean and think me being mean to you is totally unprovoked. Can you not help yourself and are irresistibly compelled to take dumb, cheap shots at our hosts? I’m an asshole when I want to be but you’re just mean-spirited and you don’t know seem to know any better.

That’s not an excuse because you should know better. You have a great example in the Jesus you try to wield as a club whenever someone points out your imbecility. That doesn’t demonstrate your righteousness, just the opposite. I know this Jesus you speak of and I’m certain he doesn’t appreciate you using him as a cudgel to salve your own wounded ego. He faced swords and cudgels in the Garden of Gethsemane and I doubt he likes you using him as a club on people just because you don’t like what they say. There’s nothing un-Christian about pointing out an ignoramus is an ignoramus. You’re trying vainly to hurt me with Jesus, which is your own fallen basic meanness and not Christian at all, and you’re failing because I know better.

He does not champion your own petty ego. He is not impressed with you using Him to bash on a Brother. Like it or not, admit it or not, condone it or not you are my Brother in Christ and none of that is up to you. That doesn’t mean I have to be nice to you whatever stupid, mean, hypocritical thing you might say or do. Just the opposite, it’s my duty to point those things out to you and I don’t care if you like it or not. It’s possible to be a saved Christian and a total idiot, you’re the living proof. You don’t hurt me a bit, the blows do not land but you certainly make people want to avoid this Jesus you swing like a club.

Good job, Bubba. Satan applauds you.

“Oh, if you want to know a good way to rip all the BW shows from the past, off of BlueTube, I have a method that is relatively simple.”

Big, hairy, deal. That’s something that many if not most of us know how to do. If not, it’s easy to find out how to do it with any search engine and the proceedure is well within the scope of any rank amateur. That’s why you can do it, it’s that simple. A simple search is no doubt how you learned and however you learned it’s special kind of wretched to think that if a nincompoop like you can manage it then real, professional IT people need your help. Believe it or not while you were smoking your gourd on dope some of us have spent many years of hard work learning and working in the IT trade. Capturing YouTube video is neither difficult nor a secret. I’m sure that someone at the Bill Whittle enterprise is fully, technically capable of capturing video from the internet if they so choose. There are other considerations besides digital extraction of streaming content for archiving videos, many other considerations. Some of them legal. You not seeming to know any of that speaks volumes.

But then let’s face facts here. You’re not trying to be helpful, in your sublime ignorance you’re trying to negate an objection, one among many and most you don’t even have a clue about, to Bill Whittle and Co. figuratively slashing their throats on YouTube so they will fit your definition of “brave”.

You’re not only a hypocritical nincompoop, you’re transparent too.

Please go ahead and tell me again how many members here have warned you about me. Give me a real number for once, you might as well at least try to make that lie convincing. 50? 100? More? LOL @ you. I probably don’t need to remind you but … I’d hate to see you miss the opportunity to say it again. It always gives me a chuckle and never gets old.

If anyone warned you about me the thing they should have cautioned you about is that I derive unreasonable satisfaction and unbounded amusement over pointing out stupidity. It’s just my thing. Like your thing is saying stupid things. We all have our things. Your thing resources my thing. Thanks for that.

It’s OK, we all know what a stupendously, amazingly, astonishingly, profoundly, unimaginably wonderful human being and pious Christian you are because Scott uses a RocketBook and you choose that to deride him over his “Chinese tech toys”. Kudos oh Sublimely Perfect Being, keep polishing up that beautiful wooden beam of yours. It’s getting really shiny and somehow seems to be growing a bit too. That you can’t see it is clear, sticking out of your eye like that — But it’s obvious to everyone else and the only difference between me and those who “warned you about me” is I’m happy to point to it and laugh.

Oh, and I’m done talking to you with this one post. I’ve made my points and I won’t indulge your puerile whining. I’m not interested in your rationalizations, your attempts at saving face or your pitiful fallacies. I understand that I’ve insulted you, you asked for the insults and I simply delivered on your own request. If you try to strike back you’re not capable of anything that can do any damage to me. Go ahead anyway. I’m not stupid like you and what you say in retaliation is nothing more than increasing stupidity. If I wrestle with a pig I just get dirty and the pig likes it. I don’t know your personal hygiene habits (or care) but the analogy holds even so.

Go ahead and spit, fume, sputter, bluster, rant, rage, scream, squeel, turn purple, try to walk back what you said, post stupid memes, tell me how many people don’t like me or try to flog me with Jesus all you like. You’ve done and said all that before, it’s old. I get a chuckle out of all that too because you don’t know it but that stuff just proves my point about you over and over. That’s a real hoot. Seriously. Do your best, Skippy. Keep being you and I’ll keep laughing at you. It’s a win-win for both of us.

Or …

Here’s a thought. How ’bout if you stop saying stupid, ignorant, hypocritical mean things, give up offering unwanted useless amateurish advice, stop calling brave men with a lot more to lose than you cowards, quit being a general weaseldick and thereby deprive me of a source of considerable mirth? Bet you can’t do it but go ahead and try. That would serve me right if I had to go find some other puddin’ head to laugh at, huh?

Does humor escape you? Have you not heard his joking about it before? Was that diatribe worth it? I didn’t read more than the first paragraph. Wow…they were right about you.

YYSSW — again. Yeah, you’re hilarious for a weaseldick. And hey, being as you brought it up, when you named Bill, Steve, Scott and everyone at their business as COWARDS a few days ago, was that your weird sense of humor too? Huh Skippy? Were you ‘just being funny’? Because I and a lot of other people didn’t see the humor in your chickenshit accusations.

You don’t get it and that’s not surprising at all. You’re not very bright. Let me spell this out for you again because you may have forgotten this part but I have not —

I don’t write those long posts for you. What I write here is not for you. You are a waste of oxygen and not worth my time. You may be bound for heaven and I hope so but if so the sooner you get there the better because you and people like you are nothing but a liability, stumbling block, misdirection and a useless burden down here. That’s on you, you chose to be what you are. I’m just pointing out the obvious.

I write those posts so people can see what a POS you are, brother. It’s for your own edification sure but that’s a lost effort on you. Much more I say these things to arm the Saints against people like you. Lots of people are fooled by your sort. It’s how you operate. A lifetime of dissipation and drug abuse spent in hedonism and squalor and presto chango all of a sudden you encounter Jesus and Hallelujah here you are an infallible Saint self-entitled to slag on your betters and slag you do. You don’t even know what humbleness and gratitude are all about though you ought to, you’re about as low as it goes and still not be an active intentional agent of hell. You’re all ego with no merit to support it. That is pretty ballsy, I admire your willingness to provide a target rich environment so hey, let’s dance. People may be fooled until you’re exposed that is. They’re good, nice people unlike you, the trusting kind of people your sort preys on so … I’m un-fooling them and having a blast doing it. I know your kind. Well.

“Wow…they were right about you.”

I knew you couldn’t resist and I said so. I even asked, how many is “they”? 50? 100? More? You walked right into it and no, of course you didn’t read what I said. Except that your quote above makes zero sense unless you did. My hairy white rump you didn’t read my post. You can’t help yourself. You couldn’t avoid reading it, you’re way too vain not to.

Thanks for the giggle. I asked and you delivered, don’t think I don’t appreciate that. Your thing resources my thing … Every time.

I love this stuff. Please say more idiotic things so I can pick them apart. I won’t quibble with your pathological juvenile rants though, it’s too tedious deconstructing and exposing your rationalizations, fallacies and ego trips. Let’s stick to your hypocrisy and lies just to keep things amusing.

Better yet, follow my advice and stop being a weaseldick if you can.

Forgive me if I don’t hold my breath, Bubba.

You recall things differently, and/or apparently misconstrue my comments a lot. It wasn’t an outright accusation. And I was respectfully corrected by the gentleman that first replied.I now know that BlueTube holds their intellectual property. My acknowledgment of my err should have been enough, but not for you. The sycophant, the self-appointed gestapo…aka idolater. Don’t be afraid to disagree with the guys on things.
I’ve worked with a lot of celebs, and I never kissed ass like you. You are king. Adios.

Not sure what was happening as I am not very tech-savvy but I could barely hear Bill through most of the episode. Sounded like he was speaking from a cave.

Trump’s attorney, Christina Bobb, was there after it was already underway. That’s from her interview with Dinesh D’Souza.

By the time this Backstage was posted, the FBI had confiscated a Congressman’s phone. Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA)
They did have a warrant, apparently.

Hillary Clinton is selling hats that say “but her emails.” She also does not look nearly that young or attractive in real life. Old photo, photoshop, deep fake, or all of them at once–just like my good mornings.

Rudy Giuliani reported that Trump already cooperated with the FBI a few weeks ago, when the FBI was there, inspected some documents, and put their own padlock on the safe. They forgot to bring back the padlock key, so they broke into it.

Former Governor Andrew Cuomo seemed worried that this would look bad for Democrats.

Trump was ready to cooperate further. His statement might have been a contingency, but only because the FBI couldn’t be bothered to act with reciprocal trust.

They’ve gone after parents at school board meetings. They’ve raided Giuliani, James O’Keefe, and now Trump.

I would also check out Dan Bongino’s reaction. One thing he mentions is that he was on protection detail for Barack Obama for two years, ready to take a bullet for the man. That earns him additional credibility.

The scariest part of the LotR movies for me, was when the Witch King’s evil-looking morningstar/heavy flail panned into view. If you didn’t watch it widescreen, what are you doing!?!? Go get it.

When I read they broke into the safe, I thought they would probably get a pass if they had a warrant that covered it and would not be charged for the damage. If they had their own lock and did not bring the key, I would be suiing them for the cost of a new a safe. It was their fault they could not get in, so its their fault it was broken.

Scott I don’t need to go into motive or legitimacy just explain why an FBI raid was conducted when every single paper is automatically declassified once the Trump left with those papers. There was something that someone wanted and was not willing to ask for it. It isn’t even important if Biden knew it is the deep state acting independent of authority.

Not sure what’s going on but it won’t play. I click the play icon, the screen gets darker and nothing happens. Also, can’t comment after I hit play. I’ve tried reloading three times. No dice. 8^(

I had that problem playing it on my iPhone , when I switched to IPad it played correctly.
