Considering today’s gerontocracy I was thinking the other day of the changing of the guard year of 1960 President Eisenhower was considered old at 70 the new up and comers Kennedy ,Nixon , Humphrey ,LBJ we’re all in their 40s or early 50s. Even Stevenson at 60 was considered past prime. Nearing 80 for a presidential aspirant was unthinkable .
Bill’s ending comments remind me of an ad for the Navy I saw years ago. It showed a carrier at sea and described the cost, the armament the destructive power and various other things about it and ended with “average age 19 “ Having been one of those 19 year olds many years ago, I loved that commercial.
It takes 67 Senators to make an impeachment stick and remove a sitting President.
I don’t think there’s any realistic chance we’ll gain the 17 seats in the Senate that we need to do that in the upcoming election.
That said, if we do then the House should initiate Articles of Impeachment immediately and the Senate should vote to remove Joe Biden from office.
Because if we get that many new seats then that would be a clear, unmistakeable, undeniable mandate against Joe Biden.
The optics would be “You did it to us, let’s see how you like it.”
The Democrat Left has become a nest of barbarian vipers. They need to be put in their place and the Democrat Party re-evaluate itself because it is no longer serving the interests of the majority of Americans.
The very first thing the newly sworn House of Representatives should do is declare the election a mandate against the sitting Administration. Then openly and publicly demand Joe Biden take the very same cognitive skills test that Donald Trump took voluntarily. If Biden fails the test, that’s all the grounds need justify impeachment. If he refuses to take the test then he knows he’ll fail it and that’s all the grounds needed for impeachment.
It’s a Catch-22 damned-if-I-do-and-damned-if-I-don’t political tactic. Either way it lays the groundwork for impeachment under the 25th Amendment.
Unlike Trump, who took those tests voluntarily, Biden’s obvious mental decline is undeniable to any fair minded observer. This will call his decline into sharp relief and justify whatever measures needed, up to and including impeachment. It’s a solid vector not to attack the Democrats though I’m sure they would take it that way, but to save the United States of America.
That will put Kacklin’ Kammy in the Oval Office. She can either straighten up and fly right for the remaining 2 years or she can face impeachment herself. Either one is good for me because I’m interested in saving the United States not winning some political equivalent of the Super Bowl.
I don’t think Kacklin’ Kammy CAN straighten up and fly right. She would have to completely denounce ALL of her previous positions and policies that have any significance. She’s not going to do that, she’s not smart enough to do that.
She was ordered by the sitting POTUS to stem the migration on our southern border. She didn’t even really try to do that but it doesn’t matter if she tried and failed or didn’t try at all. It’s incompetence and dereliction of duty either way. Which are grounds to impeach. All that’s needed is to show there were laws on the books that were not being enforced. She can either enforce those laws or be impeached. If that doesn’t work, we’ll find something else. Knowing what we know about Kacklin’ Kammy it won’t be hard to do that.
Impeachment is a remedial action, not a punitive one. That means that impeachment is meant to remove someone from office who is for whatever reason unsuitable. It is not a punishment, it’s a remedy. Thus even though they’ve been impeached that impeachment does not constitute double jeopardy in a criminal action. Joe absolutely should be impeached and then charged for Hunter Biden and the rest of his crime family’s illegal activity.
If Kacklin’ Kammy is removed then the next in succession is Speaker of the House. If we have the votes to impeach, the Speaker of the House will be a Republican.
Think hard about if you want to do this because the natural course is for the Republican Party to run the sitting President. Which will be the former Republican Speaker and not Donald Trump or Mike DeSantis etc.
I doubt it will happen but I can dream …
Given the opportunity and the mandate we positively should impeach Joe Biden. The argument against that is “We don’t want to get into a place where each side impeaches the other every time the White House changes hands.”
Which is naive and absurd.
Because the Democrats have shown they’re willing to do that. If we don’t do it then it will be just the Democrats impeaching every Republican President and the Republicans not impeaching every Democrat President.
We need to do this, but only if we can make it stick and actually remove a Democrat President. Those people only respect force, they’re like the Moslem world in that regard. If you burn them hard they’ll stop, if you make stupid noises that don’t hurt them seriously they won’t stop.
If you don’t want every Republican President impeached from here on out then this is the only way to stop that nonsense.
I said some of this a while back. I think the Ds are so afraid of how bad she will be that the only reason they keep Joe is Kamala. If they could have figured out a way to oust Kammie first, they would have had Joe resign putting Nancy as the “First Woman POTUS”.
I am not afraid of POTUS Kammie. Yes, she will be terrible, but no worse than Joe. And since she would likely like to run again, maybe she would listen to her team and be a little better.

The other important point is that once Joe is out and Kammie in. There is nothing to say there must be a VP. Johnson didn’t have one after Kennedy was assassinated. The senate does not have to confirm anyone especially since it would probably be Hil.
The other issue regarding age is that right now, the order of succession is Joe-Kammie-Nancy—Feinstein. She is President Protem of the Senate. This didn’t used to be the most senior of the party in charge, it was actually voted on by the Senate.
Feinstein, or rather her staff, has recently said she would not serve if it got to her. However, if the Rs take the senate, Sen Grassley, who will be reelected at the age of 87 this Nov and is only 6 months younger than Dianne, would be President Protem and has said he is fit enough to serve as POTUS should the need arise.

Also, one note – no there is no way to take 17 seats. There are only 14 Ds up for reelection this cycle, one of the reasons the Ds thought that this was a safe election. They couldn’t possibly lose 5 of 14 right?
In 2 years it will flip. 21 Ds, + 2 Ind (nod nod wink wink, Bernie is one and King from Maine is the other) and only 10 Rs. All of those look safe but one is Mittens, so is that really an R?
But 2024 has to scare the hell out of Ds. Might be why they have been pushing so hard on their agenda. They had a short window knowing how bad it would get.

If we get all 14 seats, which seems unlikely and too good to even hope for, all we need is three Democrats who want to save the nation and the world from the Devil … er … I mean other Democrats.

The Democrats have pushed so hard on their agenda because this is likely a last gasp effort and we should take heart in the fact that they did so. They’re crashing the whole country by implementing the things they have always really wanted and they can’t understand that The People reject those utopian aspirations.
Stupid American voters, they want to eat, put gas in their cars and light their homes with electricity instead of a nice green radioactive glow delivered express from Mother Russia. What a bunch of dummies.
We knew those utopian fever dreams wouldn’t work but in implementing them they’ve finally shown their true colors and in showing their true colors they have made things so bad that they’re virtually handing political power to the Republicans.
