Kamala Harris is Jamaican and Indian, not African American. Why would she celebrate (if she really does) Schwanzaa?
There have always been 6 principles of Kwanzaa. – circa 2028
Though, I kid, this episode forced me to do something I had never bothered to do previously. I looked up the “7 principles of Kwanzaa”. (Source: The National Museum of African American History & Culture at the Smithsonian)
Fair warning: What started out as my typical pithy comment has evolved into something more ACTS(TM)-like in length. Thanks for your patience.
This is the text I found for the second principle:
Kujichagulia (Self-Determination)To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves.
{Well, that definition sure gibes with the current wokieness of the left. That doesn’t really have anything to do with what a conservative would mean wrt self-determination. It semantically breaks down as “I am whatever I say I am and you can’t speak for me which means you can’t contradict me”
Sure seems right out of the socialist playbook.}
Shall we look at the others? My comment/interpretation/translation below each in { }.
1- Umoja (Unity)To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.
{All must think and speak alike. There is no room for a POC to disagree with us. Therefore, if you disagree, you are not really black and are effectively excluded.}
3- Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility)To build and maintain our community together and make our community’s problems our problems and to solve them together.
{Our community – which does not include any other community. We will solve our own problems, except you owe us money.}
4 – Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)To build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together.
{We are not shopping in your stores. We only support people who look like us, talk like us, think like us.}
5 – Nia (Purpose)To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.
{Reparations now and forever – meaning don’t actually give us the $$ so we have something to hold over you and make Karen and Brad feel bad.}
6 – Kuumba (Creativity)To do always as much as we can to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.
{We will agree with your green agenda as long as we can benefit from it financially.}
7 – Imani (Faith)To believe with all our hearts in our people and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.
{Yes, we really do want to eliminate the people who do not look, think, talk like us. And we will get help from Brad and Karen because they are too stupid to know that even though we may eat them last, we will still eat them. Somehow I think actual people from East Africa had Faith in a higher power, not people.}
So, how did I do on my translations?
Many of these seem to have been co-authored by Bill Ayers, much like an Obama auto-biography.
Heavy in the heart The Alinsky is for whomever authored these.
Yeah, I think you got your translations right. Those “principles” rely heavily on the word ‘collective’. Even where the word is not used directly it’s implied.
So to be atypically brief 😉 and sum the whole concept up — It seems safe to me to say that Kwanzaa and it’s celebrants are properly viewed as Communist Racists. That’s a good thing to know about Kacklin’ Kammy, someone who has blindly stumbled into the second most powerful office in the world through no merit of her own.
Well, to be completely fair to Kammie, she apparently did have one skill in which she gave more than lip service and which she was able to market into a political career.
Too subtle?
Not too subtle at all, you’re more of a gentleman than I am. I plead lack of female household members to give me dirty looks when I say something nasty.
I’d have just said she’s obviously a skilled and successful prostitute thus avoiding the question of “which lips service are we talking about?” by saying … Both sets.
Happy New Year to you.
I feel unreasonably optimistic about 2023, though maybe that has more to do with how bad 2020 and 2021 were and the lack of improvement in 2022.
LOL, Happy New Year to you and your peeps too!
I’m not so much optimistic about 2023 as I am hopeful. There are grounds for hopefulness. I try to avoid conservative doom scrolling and I think that gives me a more realistic view of things than some might have. I see a lot of despair and near despair in here and I don’t think that’s justified either. The trick is to recognize a rabbit hole when you see one.
There is still a sleeping giant in the United States of America and waking that giant is the greatest peril to our political adversaries. Time will tell but I’m as ready as I can be come what may. Having done and continuing to do what I can while being mindful but not despairing over the bad things happening lends a sort of peace.
Have you read Douglas Adams?
I have this vision in my head of that sleeping giant to which you refer. It is similar to the reaction of the people of Krikkit upon seeing that there is a whole Universe out there.
“It’ll have to go!”
That is what I think happens when that sleeping giant awakens. At some point the silent majority who just wants to be left alone are going to get pissed and vote out all of the leftist sociopaths. There are way more of us then there are of them, Presidentish 81 million not withstanding.
Yeah, I’ve read Douglas Adams. If not everything then at least the majority of his work. I came through U.S. Customs one time, returning to the US from overseas, with a copy of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in my gear. The customs agent looked at the book, then looked at me and said “Where the hell have you been? Dump your stuff out on the table and let’s see what we can find.”
I just smiled and dumped. What that Customs Agent didn’t know was that if I was coming through Customs I was clean and if I wasn’t clean Customs would never know I’d entered the country.
The one thing, and it’s the only thing that really worries me, is that the other side is attempting to seize power permanently. So we can get as pissed off as we like and we still won’t be able to vote the leftist sociopaths out.
Everything else is just noise and fury. That, btw, is why I have little respect for those who make a habit of noise and fury. Anger might be a good motivator but it’s a piss poor strategist and it’s an anti-weapon that will do more harm to the wielder than the target.
Facing a snake, the best course is to stay calm and kill it quick. Jumping around screaming about how terrible the snake is just gets you bit. I see way, way too many conservatives jumping around and screaming.
If the Left can’t get a lock on power then we can and will toss them out the door eventually. They know that perfectly well.
If they can then they think we don’t have the stomach for a real fight. They might be right about that but I’m going with the historic evidence that says they’re dead wrong.
It’s the Streisand Effect writ large. The bigger deal they make out of something the more scrutiny they invite on that thing. Things like using racism and bigotry as a weapon when they’re the real racists and bigots and the people they’re calling racists and bigots are not — Is going to backfire real hard.
If we can still cast votes that count, that is.
Every time I see photos of this moron or Brandon, it makes me physically ill. How the hell did these stupid mother fuckers get put in charge of this country? How have we fallen so far in less than 2 years?
Oh God! Bob, Thank you! I LOL at how accurate your remarks were… HTF did we ever sink so low?? Couldn’t have said it better myself…
Massive Democrat Election fraud, dishonest media and suppression of free speech, that’s how.
Perhaps someday, Kamala will be smart enough to be a moron.
You have a touching faith.
Regarding the authenticity, or otherwise, of The Wicked Witch of the Woke’s memories of Schwanza, I refer the honourable gentlemen, and all at BW.com, to the my blog post from two years ago. A Happy Harris Kwanzaa – Bill Whittle
Thanks for the reminder, I missed that one for some reason. What you said was said well and accurate. Accuracy always counts.
Have a schnappy Schwannzaa
If Kwanzaa is a dominant force in Kacklin’ Kammy’s life I would like to know which of its clichéd banal platitude bromide principles says …
“Screw your way into power and fame until you get too old for that to work, then grab any white beta male for a husband because you can’t be bothered to find a man of your own race that will tolerate your used up body and vacuous mind. Then attack the race of your husband and demand he supports you in your perfidy.”
If that’s how the ‘principles’ of Kwanzaa work it sounds like a great holiday for the Evil Lost.
Having Kacklin’ Kammy support Kwanzaa looks a lot like having Satan supporting Christmas to me … The main difference being Kwanzaa is a made-up holiday and Christmas is a holiday with a millennium of tradition behind it.
Yes, tone deaf and soul-less. These people are psychopaths. They have no real understanding of humans as anything other than exploitable, which is why they radiate insincerity, falsity and evil.
The VP has learned from the Chief Executive that lying about the past makes it so.
Oy. And vey, too. Sheesh and wtf. All points perfectly taken, gents.
