The witch Pelosi is at it again, hacking away at the foundations of our country, our culture, and anything resembling common sense. Last Wednesday, she introduced the “Equality Act” to Congress.
For the sake of you, your family, your employer, and your medical providers, you’d better hope this steaming pile doesn’t make it into law.
The Heritage Foundation has an excellent summary here of what this bill would mean.
On Wednesday March 13, Nancy Pelosi introduced the so-called Equality Act, a bill that would add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as protected classes under federal civil rights law.
Where the original Civil Rights Act of 1964 furthered equality by ensuring that African-Americans had equal access to public accommodations and material goods, the Equality Act would further inequality by penalizing everyday Americans for their beliefs about marriage and biological sex. Similar sexual orientation and gender identity laws at the state and local level have already been used in this way.
It would affect employers and workers.
The Equality Act would force employers and workers to conform to new sexual norms or else lose their businesses and jobs.
This is already happening on the state and local level.
It would affect medical professionals.
The Equality Act would force hospitals and insurers to provide and pay for these therapies against any moral or medical objections. It would politicize medicine by forcing professionals to act against their best medical judgment and provide transition-affirming therapies.
It would affect parents and children.
This politicization of medicine would ultimately harm families by normalizing hormonal and surgical interventions for gender dysphoric children as well as ideological “education” in schools and other public venues.
…parents in Ohio lost custody of their seventeen-year-old daughter because they declined to put her on testosterone supplements.
It would affect all women.
The Equality Act would ultimately lead to the erasure of [the uniqueness of] women by dismantling sex-specific facilities, sports, and other female-only spaces.
It would hurt volunteerism.
State and local sexual orientation and gender identity laws have shut down numerous faith-based adoption and foster care agencies across the country, in Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, California, Massachusetts, and the District of Columbia.
These states wrongly treated the belief that children do best with both a mother and a father as discriminatory, and kids are the ones who are paying the price. With 438,000 children languishing in foster care nationwide, we need more agencies working to help kids find homes, not fewer.
The entire Anglosphere is afflicted with this level of stupidity. Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit highlights the trouble one poor woman in the UK got herself into for using an unapproved pronoun. She’s under police investigation for crying out loud!
The legal environment surrounding these suppressive ideas is still in flux, but it is on the move. Articles tend to use phrases like “could produce” and “may result in”, but there are already enough solid examples of people whose lives have been destroyed and institutions that have been seriously harmed or put out of business to take this oncoming tsunami seriously.
Is it any wonder life in the Soviet Union was gray and featureless? People were afraid to say anything. It’s coming here. I might take a leaf from Steve Green’s portfolio and invest some money in vodka stocks.
And pray that Trump vetoes this when it gets to his desk.

They simply do not get it, and never will.
Legislating common decency is not the job of the government.
It’s not so much the legislation of decency I’m worried about, it’s the putting into place a legal system whereby the State can do anything to you that they feel like, for any made-up reason.
When I read novels such as 1984 and Brave New World growing up, they were horror stories. The current Left treats them as scheduled plans for governance.
