A family member asked me, sincerely, “What does ‘woke’ mean? I explained it like this. Woke is one of four levels of liberalism.
Level one – Democrat. A Democrat will show up on election day and vote Democrat. They don’t think about politics, and they don’t want to talk about politics. They just vote.
Level two – Liberal. Liberals have thought about most the political topics, and they believe that liberal solutions are the best.
Level three – Woke. Woke individuals believe the liberal solutions are best and they do everything they can to encourage non-liberals to embrace or at least tolerate liberal solutions. Woke teachers will encourage their students. Woke politicians will pass laws to force everyone to accept liberal solutions. Woke members of Hollywood will produce movies and TV shows that push some liberal agenda item. Woke human resources directors will push CEI, (Corporate Equity Index). They will encourage employee training for DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity) and micro-aggression training concerning BIPOC, (Black or Indigenous Persons Of Color). Marketing vice presidents of major beer corporations will push liberal philosophies on their cans. They’re non-liberal customers will say “Oh? Screw my beliefs? Then, screw you, too.”
Level four – Progressives. Progressives believe the liberal philosophies and they know that we can only achieve a perfect society if everyone embraces these philosophies. And they know that you can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs and they are willing to break those eggs.
