Afghanistan is sitting on an unmined treasure trove of one trillion dollars worth of rare earth and other minerals. If we pull out of Afghanistan, China and Russia will swoop down like vultures and enrich themselves. One can imagine the slavery, forced prostitution, and bribes to the Taliban that will follow; the Afghani government will become a mere puppet. Any police officers, army soldiers, judges, prosecutors with morals will be eliminated and replaced with corrupt ones who can be paid to look the other way when human rights abuses occur. Women and girls who’ve fled to women’s shelters to escape forced marriage and domestic cruelty will no longer be protected. Families will demand their errant daughters be brought back to them so they can stone them to death.
If we pull out of Afghanistan, those women and girls must come with our troops to the United States. If we leave them to their fate, they will be raped by the Taliban, then returned to their families and “honor” killed for adultery.

Is there ever a number of soldiers that we must lose trying to “save” another country? I, for one, have had quite enough of our involvement in Afghanistan. They (the majority of them) don’t want our “help”. If they wanted our help, our soldiers would have had a much different experience over there. If some other country goes in and takes over, that is not our problem.
