Pewdiepie, who for many years was the biggest YouTuber ever (not anymore, btw), has surpassed 100 million subscribers. If you are amongst the culturally lost and damned and have never seen Pewdiepie, you’re really not missing anything. I’ve tried to watch some of his videos, and they are essentially gibberish. You’ll keep wondering, “when is he going to do something”, before realizing that that’s all he does. Nevertheless, this is one of the most watched things that the west has ever produced. Ain’t that something? I feel like this moment in history is like a variation of the opening lines of, “A Tale of Two Cities”: it was the smartest of times, and it was the stupidest of times.
Nevertheless, I was impressed by Felix’s heartfelt and humble thank you video to his fans for all the success that they have brought him. Watching this you see not inane gibberish, but the earnest story of somebody who found his passion in life, and was willing to delay all gratification to make it succeed. 9 years may seem like overnight to us fogies, but when you are 20, it feels like an eternity. Anyways, here’s the video of Pewdiepie unboxing his 100 million subscriber plaque from YouTube.
