Ideas have consequences and bad ideas have victims. This statement and or quote hit the nail on the head! Intervention helps (most of) the alcoholics, drug addicts, and other addictions. So why not in this case too? I’ve not heard anywhere that this is even suggested or offered.
Good question. In my last book (Real Philosophy for Real People: Tools for Truthful Living) I warn against the “Rationalist Fallacy”, which states: “If only I explain myself clearly enough, people will understand and agree with me.” But that so very often doesn’t work. The reasons for that sad fact have both moral and spiritual roots.
