I remember one sexual harassment training session. She said that if you looked at a women’s shoes first & looked up her body; that was sexual harrasment. Me (ex AF Capt.), Dave (exUSN), Ivan (exAUSA) & James (active USAFR) burst out laughing. She was not amused. 1-Lt James (black, 6’3″) told her that was an AFR-35-10 dress inspection.
People will always come to work when they’re sick, either because they’re out of leave or don’t want to burn their sick leave or because they think their contribution is too important to miss. And you’re so right about Human Resources Departments being purely CYA. They’re not there to make sure the employee is protected, they’re there to make sure the employee cannot sue the company. I’ve never worked at a place where HR gave a damn about the employee.
I don’y have to sign a paper each day. The job site I am currently working at has an app for that… I just show the green dated app screen while they take my temperature.
I’d simply sign the document and breath a sigh of relief that they didn’t ask me about my AIDES infection.
Instead of “Dear Abby” maybe use “Hello Reddit” instead?
I think this is more insidious and something that is going to creep further into society if we allow it.
We are treating people with Covid-19 as if they are carriers of something much more lethal to everyone. And govt is basically presuming that everyone has it. Poeple are ganging up and bullying others for not following “the rules” which are drafter along the lines of Calvinball.
I see parallels to the start of the AIDS epidemic where there was so much misinformation and to how to get the disease that suspect people are shunned. What is next Leper colonies for Covid-19? What about the next virus that comes along in 2 years?
This is a bad path that we are on and I fear it will get worse, and be worse than the disease(s).
Are you guilty until proven innocent? Yes? No? This is exactly what is being impressed upon all of us. The “powers that be” are working overtime to exercise power they don’t have to do anything but assert a an accusation as proof of guilt. Then we must prove we are not guilty. They don’t have to prove anything but provide the accusation.

Bob, I’m trying to find ways to speed load times for the website…a perpetual challenge. The Like buttons had to fetch outside resources and thus slowed the load. We still have a way to rate the post above, and I’m searching for less resource-intensive ways to do both functions.
