$600 Insult: Why Trump Pushed Back on Pork-Packed COVID-19 Relief Bill

A mere $600 for you, but that’s the least of it. Wait until you hear where your tax dollars are going.

Stephen Green catalogs some of the highlights of the pork-packed COVID-19 relief bill that President Trump just slapped down. A mere $600 for you, but that’s the least of it. Wait until you hear where your tax dollars are going.

All this talk of guillotines is very distressing. Why use such an over engineered contraption that reeks of Jacobinism and garlick?

As Steve said, there are lamp posts aplenty, trees too and rope is cheap. Although, to do it properly you need to apply the “long drop” principle. A 100lb culprit needs a 10 foot drop, 200lb, about 8’6” and so on.

The axe is another deeply old school alternative, or if you want the Anne Boleyn touch, a heading sword (the sword requires the culprit to kneel). Either way, remember to make sure the culprit’s hair and clothing are out of the way. Remember, nothin’ but neck.

Don’t tease, Davey. 😉

I’m gonna recommend a book series to you because the first few of the seven in the series are set in England. It’s called Sparrowhawk by Edward Cline. It’s set in the Revolutionary War period and makes for excellent historical fiction. Very deeply researched, so it’s extremely accurate.

Not all Brits were (or are, obviously) against America.

Sorry for being late t othe conversation, but I took a few days off from politics for the holiday.
And forgive me for being glib, but why would we give any stimulus money to non-citizens? Shouldn’t they be asking for relief from the countries of their citizenship?

Milton Friedman was clairvoyant when he offered the 4 ways to spend money. #s 1 & 4 are EXCEPTIONAL. #1: when spending one’s own money, COST & QUALITY are very important and #4: when receiving money from others to spend on others, COST & QUALITY do9 not matter. This REALITY doubly holds TRUE for the Bureaucratic and especially the Political Class except for a very few.
A $900,000,000 (BILLION) supposed Relief/Stimulus package that will neither. WHY? Far FAR too much of the dollars goes toward items that have NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING to do with helping those MOST hard hit by the mismanagement of the Wuhan China Virus. The INEPTITUDE of the decision making process is highlighted at FrontPageMag.com banner Headline: INSIDE EVERY PROGRESSIVE IS A TOTALITARIAN SCREAMING TO GET OUT. I would also include the RHINO WHIG Do NOTHING liters who ONLY seek to get along to belong.

This is BLATANT FRAUD disguised as help for those in NEED which in Reality get a few pennies.

We talk about elitists and boy do we have them. We got rid of the elitist class with the revolution but we have over time reestablished a similar class. Why do the ‘servants of the people’ in government have better benefits and programs than the working stiffs that pay them? Having their own retirement system & health care system, it’s no wonder they don’t have any incentive to fix what they have messed up for the rest of us.

Remember if you are already broke and past the point of no return, doubling down on you bet is an option. Its even in the bible. Yes you will renege on the debt at some point bankrupting the debts owners but the buyers still buy. That’s because while the USA is a financial mess, every other country is in the same mess and is less powerful. In a room full of bankrupts the one that still has his shirt on his back is the hero.

Yeah, but USA is exploiting the whole world through $ working as a global currency and stash. And benefits from that bigtime.
To keep that it is supposed to stay subtle. Blatantly pressing money in everyone’s face may finally make people look elsewhere, despite all the shitty offers.

The US is exploiting others because others choose to use the Dollar as the “global currency”? That would be like blaming the French because their language used to be the language of diplomacy.

It’s not that the US makes the others feel inferior, it’s that the others ARE inferior. “Exploitation” isn’t the word I’d use. Economics is.

I did not imply blaming, just stated the fact and the ability. Feel free to replace the word.
Inferiority has nothing to do here. One function of money is “stash” — that means expects being spend it in the future instead of right now. The money issued by states is supposedly backed by their economy. Also their effort to keep the value of their currency.
The baseline is that the currency is held by the citizens, so inflation impacts only them. But if your currency is held by outsiders, you can “tax” them too that way. However doing that erodes the trust, and the outstanding amount. If you go too obvious, it is already a fishy idea.
If on top of that you also promise to “reset” the economy and turn the well working capitalism to some socialist way that walks the same way you can observe in Venezuela, it tells anyone with brains to drop their $, the faster the better, as the later you act the more you lose.

Actually the US dollars are wildly popular in the third world where currencies are almost worthless. You see people trading with them in big wads. The US has printed far more physical dollars than it needs but dollars, particularly 20’s and 50’s, drain out of the country by the ton. So it seems people in the average market do not feel particularly exploited.
Also there is a strong probability that Trump wants to end the Petro-dollar mechanism but it would cause a bunch of financial crashes in both allies and neutral countries.

Someone likened the American People to a boiler full of cold water in that it takes a lot of time for it to build up to steam. Well, someone tied down the relief valve and there is about to be a cataclysmic explosion the likes of which hasn’t been seen since the Czar Bomba! After all is said and done, I believe we conservatives outnumber the leftists and hold all the weapons! We need a completely new nation still based on that brittle old parchment known as the Constitution. It doesn’t need to be fixed, it just needs to be followed.

Afterthought. If we cut off all foreign aid and collected all the tariffs places like China owe us, how long would it take to pay off the National Debt?

In Australia we had a 1890 saw mill/ boat building company that built a steam saw mill on the coast. They installed the boiler up side down and cut the safety valve off to do that. It blew up and the multi-ton fly wheel went though two buildings and into the sea. They lost one worker. They sent back to England bought a new steam engine and retrieved the fly wheel from the sea bed, and installed everything wrong again. AND they only succeeded in making one boat!

I suggest that you read the negative Amazon reviews before buying this book. They convinced me not to bother.

The mode or method of creating money (minting gold coin, printing paper bills, incurring or creating bank or other debt (with or without fractional reserve expansions) has no direct relationship to how well the overall money supply is managed to maintain consistent value of the money being created. That requires integrity and honesty and virtue from a number of players in the system. If that is absent then it doesn’t matter what type of money you have, you are losing out unless you are one of the people manipulating things to your advantage.

The person who actually won the presidential election is vetoing the pork covid bill. He stands to gain nothing from it other than he knows that it is the right thing to do. Make the life of everyone who voted for this bill, INCLUDING republicans, life hell. Oust thine swine.

I have a feeling he’ll sign with the pork as long as he gets the $2K for each American. I hope he doesn’t. But if he does, it’ll tell me a LOT about him.
