74+ million of us have memories longer than a hamster!

This was sent to me by my daughter:

Here is my issue with the whole, “let us all be a United States again” that we heard from Joe Biden.
For the last 4+ years, the Democrats have gone and scorched the earth. You have salted the fields and now you want to grow crops.
The problem is 74+ million of us have memories longer than a hamster.
We remember the women’s march (vagina hats and all) the day after inauguration.
We remember the 4 years of attacks and impeachments.
We remember “not our president” and the “Resistance…”
We remember Maxie Walters telling followers to harass us in restaurants.
We remember the Presidents spokesperson being kicked out of a restaurant.
We remember hundreds of Trump supporters physically attacked.
We remember Trump supporters getting Doxed, and fired from jobs.
We remember riots, and looting.
We remember “a comedian” holding up the President’s severed head.
We remember a play in Central park paid with public funding, showing the killing of President Trump.
We remember Robert de Niro yelling “F” Trump” at the Tony’s and getting a standing ovation.
We remember Nancy Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union Address.
We remember the total in the tank move on the mainstream media.
We remember the non-stop and live fact checking on our President and his supporters.
We remember non-stop in your face lies and open cover-ups from the media.
We remember the President and his staff being spied on.
We remember five Senators shot on a ballfield.
We remember every so-called comedy show turn into nothing but Trump hate fest.
We remember 95% negative coverage in the news.
We remember the state governors asking and getting everything they asked for and then blaming Trump for their problems.
We remember a Trump top aid verbally assaulted in two DC restaurants.
We remember people banging on the Supreme Court doors.
We remember that we were called every name in the book for supporting President Trump.
We remember that Hollywood said they would leave after Trump was elected but they stayed.
This list is endless, but you get the idea.
My friends will be my friends, but a party that has been on the attack for 4 long years does not get a free pass with me!
Copy and paste because FB wouldn’t let me share.

There isn’t one thing on that list that I would consider “folly”. It all happened, and the republicans let it all happen. I will no longer call myself a republican, I am a conservative and always will be.Has anybody heard any thing from that piece of sh*t Paul Ryan lately? Thanks a lot you fu#king coward. If you had done your job as speaker of the house, none of this crap would be happening.

Bob, watch your language.
And stop being so Trite.
How many people have you voted for because you thought Politics was a different game than you thought it was, or ought to be.
When will you acknowledge that you are part of the problem, not the solution.
You and that Wiccan from Delaware? (I could look up her name – she was a bit of a Looker – but she’s not worth the bother.)

What the hell does our lack of faith in your non-existent god got to do with this? Does being a “believer” in your god make you smarter than the rest of us heathens? Why do Christians think that you’re morally superior to every body else? Your sh*t stinks to you know. We are all the same.

Don’t waste your breath, all I want from you is to acknowledge that the same amount of evidence that there is for your god is also the same as the theory that an inter-galactic teapot is orbiting Jupiter.Where’s your evidence for your god? I live my life surrounded by christians like your self that can’t help them selves and make everything about their faith.Faith without evidence is meaning less.

Your Faith that there is no God is so very weak that you demand that I prove your Faith of His Nonexistence to you.
Christopher Hitchens you most certainly ain’t, Sad Bob.
At least you do not worship Satan.

POST SCRIPT, I am a member of TST, and reject anything that you claim to be evidence for your god’s existence.Only death is real, only the dead know the truth.
Happy turkey day.

You do realize that belief in a god is the same as believing in bigfoot. I don’t have to prove that he doesn’t exist, you need to prove that he does exist. Adults with imaginary friends are living their lives for a lie. Dead is forever.

Death offers Truth, Bob.
Aren’t you hungry for the Truth?
There are ways for you to speed up and find Truth, Bob.

Well, I woke up the Nutjob.
Bob, you are a Cross that I have to bear.
At least until the next wood chipper.
You drop me, I can drop you, and we can each seek Happiness.
Or are you that Mentally Ill?

Well I am taking 2 prescriptions for depression, and 1 of them is an anti-psychotic medication. And I have had serious bouts of depression and been suicidal in the past. Just ask my wife and kids. Nice touch there, maybe you should be less judgmental of others that aren’t slaves to their “faith” like you. I notice you haven’t answered any of my questions yet. What’s wrong, GOD got your tongue?

I cannot help you.
You need help.
The drugs might not be working.
I mention God and you turn into a Rabid Dog, foaming at the mouth.
Don’t be here. Be where people can help you.
This site is just an ordinary Blog focused on Politics, which will drive the Sanest crazy.
And you clearly are not among the Sanest,
God loves you more than you can know right now.
I hope you have time to learn that.

My profile needs fleshing out, Eugene.
But I would as soon listen to Calexico and Squirrel Nut Zipper and allow all the darkness in my world to be confined to episodes of His Dark Materials than be forced to ponder it.
I try to resist being a “Glss Half Empty” kind of guy. That is difficult just now.

Take your time Edward, we will wait.
I would not have posted something from my daughter had I not agreed with it.
And while I value diverse opinions, you sir presume too much.

Well, is she the only father’s daughter who is caught up with the folly of the times?
No, she is not.
You would like to presume that she will be exempt from the price of her folly, perhaps?
All fathers would.
I do not presume. I have seen people like you make the same statements before.
And I know of people whose children have already paid the price for such folly.
Take care of your daughter. And leave off with such petty sense of offense as you have expressed. It can be ruinous to your daughter to do so.

1st you presume to judge the maturity of my daughter and then presume to judge my skills as a parent.”Give her a good model to base her life on”, indeed.
Perhaps your time would be better spent creating elegant prose for your profile rather than wasting time judging others.
But then again, I could be wrong.

As far as “seeing people like me” I must correct you. You know no one quite like me.

You have a daughter who you think is making foolish statements, of a type that foolish people all around the country are making.
That is all I need to know about you.
There is nothing unique about you, in that one respect.
In others, you are correct.
I do not know or understand the whole of you, only the little portion you have revealed.
Why you take offense at anything I have written makes no sense to me. And it should not, to you.
Like John Wayne says in the movie: “Now don’t have a sore head about it.”
And if you wish to no longer hear what I have to say, say nothing more to me.
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas, and Good Day to you, Sir!

None of this makes sense. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you Sir! Live long and prosper.

You replied to my other Post, and I replied to you.
I understand why you are angry with me.
There is no justification for your anger.
None of what I said is anything anyone WANTS to make sense.
There is a difference.

Were you in that laboratory when David Banner received that fatal dose of Gamma Radiation?
What a ridiculous threat you make.
“You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.”
I don’t dislike you.
I Pity you.

Dude,
WTF is your problem? I never said that! I said “I am NOT angry with you. If I were it would be very obvious. It was a statement of fact, based on your comment”There is no justification for your anger.”
You pity me? My 1st impression of you based on your writings seams to be true. You are an arrogant pompous ass. I don’t dislike you but you seem to be going out of your way to ensure I do. I said if I were angry it would be very obvious. If you treat everyone you meet the way you have me, you are the one to be pitted.
So, is that what you wanted? To see what it was like? To see me angered?Congratulations!
I have had a heated discussion or two here but they were always respectful and non antagonistic. But from the start you seemed to try and push my button. Why? Do you do this to people in real life too? Somehow I doubt it.
You are either a lonely old man or a well educated spoiled child hiding behind an internet connection. Either way, I have spent too much time, of what little I have left on this earth, on you.
You said “What a ridiculous threat you make.” THREAT??? Where did I EVER make a THREAT? I never, ever. threaten. Annyone. Ever.
Dude, grow the fuck up.
Menj a te lstenaddel

Again, deleting comments takes longer than is convenient in these matters on this site.
Think about what your Stones of Pride are.

All right, I am sorry.
You could have just pointed out my error instead of getting ll Righteous.
You did protest too much about the wrong thing.
We both have quick tempers, then.
Yours is quicker.

Edward, I think there must be a misunderstanding here. In your intro to your own blog post yesterday, you wrote: “. . . his daughter, who has emailed him with one of those insipid ‘Unite’ messages. He wrote out the laundry list we should all be familiar with showing why it is far too soon to ‘Unite.'”

But that’s not what Eugene said above. His daughter sent him the part you describe as a “laundry list.” He agreed with it, so he copied/pasted her email here. The only part of his post that he wrote himself was the first line, “This was sent to me by my daughter:” –which seems pretty clear to me.

You have been impugning his character as a father and his daughter’s as a person, based on something that doesn’t exist.

In my opinion, even if your version of events was correct, you’d still be out of line. But since this dispute appears to have been based on a misunderstanding, perhaps it is mendable.

My mistake was obvious and easily pointed point, early on.
Eugene and I have quick tempers.
His is quicker.
And to pretend that no parent has ever deserved to be disappointed by their children was and is a deeper mistake on the part of Eugene.
Watch Ron Howard’s film Parenthood.
Watch the scene where Jason Robard has to let his youngest son Larry go off to an offstage end in Argentina and prepare to raise his grandson.
Jason Robards’ character is asked by his grandson, “Will I see him again?”
He responds “No.” With a look on his face that is sad … about his son Larry, and his role in what Larry has become, and just done.
BTW, what Eugene’s daughter sent is a Laundry List. It’s practically a Meme.
I voted for Paul Ryan.
A lot of people did.
Paul Ryan is a good, decent man, who was not suited for any of the offices he was elected to.
He is as wonderful and useless as that Eagle Scout Frasier Crane chooses as his agent after he has ended his relationship with The Princess of Darkness. Then, for his own good, he turns back to The Princess of Darkness.
But I voted for Pul Ryan (and Mitt Romney), and enthusiastically.
So I betrayed myself but forgetting to be as cunning as a serpent, because being a gentle as a sheep has always felt more virtuous.
And the sad thing is, I like Braised Lamb Chops.

I have to disagree, your mistake was NOT obvious until you posted your separate blog post. Until then, I for one was scratching my head trying to make sense of what you were saying. I gave up. And Eugene repeated that she had sent it to him and he agreed with it, so he posted it.

Thank you for apologizing, and I hope this is the end of it.

Again, work on your depth perception.
Eugene thought he was doing something Intelligent when he passed along the Laundry List his daughter passed along.
No wonder Conservatives lose so much.

I understand the impulse behind what your daughter sent.
We say we admire Winston Churchill, but we are more if not most inclined to follow Neville Chamberlain, hoping desperately against hop e that that piece of paper he just flew back from Berlin is worth something.
How old is your daughter? Old enough to still grow up some?
Give her a good model to base her life on. Maybe she follows it, maybe she doesn’t.
She’ll have to live out to old age and see her decisions played out.
That’s a brutal thing to say, but there it is.

I am confused. It sounds like you are saying that we should accept the promise of peace and unity, despite ample evidence that it is a lie.

I am saying that the promise has great appeal, to many people and always has, and for good reason.
It really does promise something wonderful and easy.
Churchill offered Division and War..
Who wants Division and War?
But everyone gets to make their own choice. And gets to pay for it.
Even our children. We can only offer them a good enough example of strength, courage, and wisdom for them to learn from and emulate.
By the by, why have so many parents’ children gone away to school and come back so disillusioned with their parents?
How many parents taught their children that the real authority lay outside the home. That the Priests taught Morality, and the Teachers Wisdom, and now that the Teachers are the Priests.
You’d think that parents only exist to feed, clothe and house their children for the benefit of the State and the Ecclesiastic Class, now combined in one.
Why bother having parents at all?

Maybe I am misreading something, but the original post sounded to me like the daughter was indeed rejecting the path of peaceful surrender.

As for your question, I believe we are at least two, if not three, generations into the indoctrination process. My parents stuck to the tried-and-true parenting methods, but many of my peers were not so fortunate.

There are some signs that the tide is beginning to turn, but we have a long way back.

That disagreement has been as sorted out as it can be.
I agree with you.
Two to three?
If that goes back to when the Greatest Generation came home and to a shocking degree did not talk about their lives before the War ended … I absolutely agree.

It does, though I suppose three to four generations would be more accurate, depending where you draw the lines. You’re right. That was one of the earliest roots cut away.
