Kanye West suddenly shows up in Wyoming to lead a worship service, with a flash mob in tow, and a journalist doesn’t seem to catch who’s being worshiped: Kanye or Christ?
Stephen Green leads Scott Ott and Bill Whittle through the silver anniversary edition of Lightning Round. It’s like a game show about this week’s news…with no prizes.

Guys, Kanye has a new album coming out. Guess the title? “Jesus Is King.”
Bill @7:55 – I disagree, this anecdote will add members.
I am going to see if I can find this shirt:
Whale
Oil
Beef
Hooked.
I love it.
I think you guys spoke on other topics as well. Darned if I remember them, though.
Yep – still available.

I think they have some of those too. I wasn’t very discerning with the link.
The one thing TIVO is great for is watching sports. Start recording, turn the TV off, and start watching from the beginning @ halftime. You get to skip the commercials and mindless halftime prattle, and be caught up right around when the game actually ends!
Is it me or do these Lightning Rounds seem to have replaced Steve’s old “Week in Blogs” show?
Now if we could just bring back “Hair of the Dog”…
YES! I’ve been waiting for both for years! YouTube actually has some old HOTDs and I just had to watch Steve uncork his classic …”Being President is Hard!”
At least someone or something called Kanye West can appear on television and be heard to speak. Jesus is only widely believed to have been and is alive without actually being publicly sighted in roughly 2000 years. Not sure this helps understand the event.
To the red thumb: that many don’t like what I write is not an indication of anything but they don’t like what I write. Please demonstrate the lack of truth in what I wrote.
Belief/faith is not itself proof of anything but belief/faith. The reality of what is believed still requires objective proof which has yet to be produced in that self same 2000 years.
1) If someone provided the evidence, would you confess your error and bend the knee to Jesus?
2) What evidence would you accept?
Among other things, I am a scientist and an engineer. I am not a mystic who believes because he wants to believe.
Hence, I require actual physical evidence of existence that I can personally examine AND similar objective proof he said what he is said to have said. Even this is vastly short of proving that Jesus is The Son of God and is therefore divine. This too must be independently verifiable by me.
Ancient texts, multiply transliterated scrolls, and reports of reports of reports of what happened are not evidence. This includes the highly emotional subjective reports by countless people, living AND dead, who say they have or have had a personal relationship with Jesus/God/Holy-Spirit. Such statements are simply conjecture, myths, and made up stories (ie empty virtue signaling).
I will accept that many believe they believe but I can’t accept that the belief has any foundation in reality. That is unless and until that foundation is presented to me as independently verifiable fact by me.
I will hold this position even if all the rest of humanity says I am wrong.
Your move.
I thought this was interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJDrCQXi0mU
The video does not support either the divinity of Jesus Christ or the existence of the Christian God. It simply supports the reality of evolution by illustrating one step of its mechanism.
All the rest was arbitrary assertion without foundation in anything but ancient myth. Myths written by and for psychotic bronze age witch doctors and war lords so they could claim absolute power over the ignorant members of the tribe.
This is not fun for me. I am deadly serious about what I say.
I see what I am fighting as the greatest evil on earth: the willingness to believe without and in spite of evidence to the contrary (FAITH!). Every evil on earth has as its bases a refusal to think, a refusal to see, a refusal to use reason, a refusal to encounter reality as it is, and a refusal to act accordingly.
Did Steve call Sheila Jackson Lee “congress critter”?
Is there another term for CongressCritter?
That was a nickname for congressional people around the web, probably 15 years ago. I remember first encountering it on slashdot I think around that time.
