Since I’m stuck twiddling my thumbs while waiting for Star Citizen to install so I can try out the cool spaceships, figured I might as well share a few screen shots starring my favorite Empyrion: Galactic Survival capital vessel – the carrier Perses. She’ll blow just about anything out of the sky and haul around a ridiculous number of tanks and small vessels without batting an eyelash. And she has all the amenities of home, though they don’t make an appearance here.
(Sometimes she likes to pretend that she’s a boat instead.)
In other words, here’s a very basic answer for “why play video games?”: so I can build a cool spacecraft carrier and tour around an alien solar system from the comfort of my own room. Not really an option in real life!

WOW! Great shots! You have your own carrier? Color me jelly.
Ha, yes–it’s less impressive than it sounds, as I’m running her in a freedom mode game, where you can spawn in ships without having to provide all the resources first. In survival mode I’m still stuck with just a hover tank–need to get my butt in gear and build a space-capable vessel so I can visit some other planets.
But sometimes it’s nice to play space tourist and swan around taking pretty photos without having to worry about dying every other minute–and have fun pounding the snot out of enemy bases in your very own carrier. 😉
