Brad Pitt and Harrison Ford Trash Trump and Half Their Audience…Who Cares?

When Brad Pitt and Harrison Ford use their celebrity platform to trash President Trump — and thus half of their movie audience — they spit in the face of the people gave them that platform. But times have changed since Jimmy Stewart graced us with his all-American characters and personal life to match, and it just doesn’t matter any more. So why do these hypocrites do it?

I disagree with Scott’s comparison of a physicist “SME” with Harrison Ford’s and Brad Pitt’s ideology. It’s the same as comparing science with religion. Science is the study of the physical world in the present, formulating hypotheses and comparing that theory against test measurements in a repeatable fashion. It takes years of study and work to gain that knowledge. There’s nothing scientific about pontificating one’s beliefs. Everybody is a SME in their own religion. Scott can say be believes in God but that doesn’t make it so. Likewise, leftists can believe in not God but they’re just as powerless to prove it. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Any statement must have a subject and a predicate. Faith in faith is nonsense. Faith is the subject, but it is meaningless without a predicate. Ford’s and Pitt’s predicate is “America bad.” They are SMEs in their own mind and I will defend their right to believe their nonsense because I hold the First Amendment to be a self-evident truth that protects the right of conscience.

The influence of Hollywood being like a “gut shot deer” is a great word picture. It really ruins the meat.

The time Bill was talking about with Jimmy Stewart ,Johnny Carson and the like was a remnant of an earlier time when political affiliation was an honest difference of opinion, Like so much that is rotten, in the mid 60s the left began the outrage culture that continues today. ‘Issue X ( war, warming, immigration , fill-in the blank ) is too important , I’m outraged , I must speak out and expel from life everyone who disagrees because they are evil’

Joe McCarthy had the Socialist schtick of Hollywood’s left wing indoctrination properly identified clear back in the 50’s. But in typical form, when the left can’t actually disavow or destroy the message, they chose to destroy the messenger, and sadly Ol’ Joe was an easy target in that regard! Today, in Hollywood’s waning years, the actors are coming out showing their true stripes as a last desperate attempt to bring about the influence that their movies are now failing to deliver. But even sadder is the fact that the job is already done for the most part, as the school system has been used as the tool of the teachers unions to provide an even deeper level of radical left indoctrination than the movies could ever hope for, and they’ve been doing it for the last several generations at least!!!

I would rather have a son-of-a-b**** representing the United States as president, than an ever-apologizing, spineless puppet who thinks disarming the American citizenry is the best path toward world peace.

In my lifetime, there have only been two female and possibly two male actors I have thought I might like personally. And I’m not talking about liking their political views…just about them being decent human beings. The rest if they don’t land in Hollywood as degenerates quickly become so. I have never been interested in the lives of actors/actresses and only remember the names of a handful. Most A-list celebrities aren’t worth noticing. In fact, only one of the handful that I think I might like might actually be considered A-list.

I’m with you, Miriam. I quit caring about Hollywood when I was in college. (More decades ago than I care to admit.) But then, I’m completely tuned out of not just Hollywood but also pop music and pop culture in general. I used to joke that I got my pop cultural references from Bill O’Reilly, but it’s been over a decade since that was true. I guess I now get them from Bill Whittle.

On this note, I have incredible respect for Chris Evans as an actor. He plays the goodhearted, patriotic Captain America despite your typical Hollywood Leftist d-bag. Somebody give this an Oscar for best actor!

I’ve worked w/ actors most of my like. W/ few exceptions, I wouldn’t trust them to take care of a house plant. But I’d absolutely would, and did, goto their parties.

Harrison Ford has never been the same since he took that Carbonite bath. He might have come out of it when Leia rescued him, but his balls never unfroze

I’d say he’s never been the same since he left his wife and hooked up w/ Callista Flockheart

I recall a show I watched when I was a kid and fortunately I found it on YouTube. The title is “Swing Out Sweet Land”. If you need an example of how badly Hollywood has gone off the rails just watch the last 5 minutes or so when many of the biggest stars of the day all sang God Bless America.
