Honestly, if we are to the point where our society is going to do something as foolish as putting something in their bodies like this no matter who they think told them to do so we probably need to look at a hard reboot and let them go.
As you so effectively pointed out Bill, when people her this crap in the media, they are hearing a dangerously distorted bias version of what the president really said.
I guess the Mr. Yuck sticker generation has come of age and the concept of the sticker is not just to help small children who can not read know not to eat something.

Isn’t it amazing that in this day and age we actually have to explain to young folks that swallowing tide-pods might not be such a good idea? I’m a product of the late 1960’s and 1970’s public education system and believe me when I tell you, rocket science was never in my future, lol, but there was never a question about what to eat and what not to eat; well there might have been a bug eating dare in Boy Scouts once.
President Trump is a street brawler and speaks the language. It’s not a difficult language. His vernacular is about America. The one that I helped defend.

It is not so much that the “reporters” are tying to take down Trump, they are taking advantage of the public tendency to listen with their emotions rather than their minds. In which case, those members of the public listen to the emotions the words elicit and NOT to the actual meaning of the words.
Next the “reporters” create, out of whole cloth, the worst possible interpretation of the emotion and attribute that interpretation to the original words. Neither the “reporters” nor the emotion listening public refer to the original words or their meaning, the reference is only to the grossly distorted interpretation of the emotion. Thus the original speaker is tarnished forever by a second hand interpretation of an emotion magnified by people who represent themselves “reporters”.
The “reporters” get a two for one in that they have further contaminated the minds of the public and have destroyed the reputation of the original speaker. There by making the same scam even more effective the next opportunity that occurs to make use of it.
This is much worse than a simple lie intended to deceive. It is the willful malicious destruction of the ability of anyone to speak the truth and have it heard and understood. It is also the willful malicious destruction of the ability of the public to understand the words offered even approximately correctly. After which, it is but a very small step to the destruction of civilization and the extinction of man on earth. Which is the so called “reporter’s ultimate and eagerly sought goal! It is no more a lie than gangster holding a gun at your head and pulling the trigger is telling a lie. The action and its consequences are very real.
Bill, it’s even worse than that. You can see in the clip you employed that the President was speaking to someone just off-camera about further experiments they are planning to conduct. That person is the Director of Science and Technology at DHS, who had just given a presentation (to the press, moments earlier), reporting the results of actual experiments conducted by scientists in his department. The report given right there at the press conference included a handy chart showing the tremendous reduction in half-life of the virus on surfaces when exposed to various disinfectants, and to sunlight, for example from 18 hours in a controlled environment to two minutes with sunlight.
Furthermore, as the press asked questions of the Director, the President also asked him questions, which he explained, including telling the President directly that his interpretations and questions were correct.
So the press corps knew EXACTLY what the President was talking about, and what he was reacting to.
