While I agree that those voting Dem in the election will be voting for the VP rather than Biden, I think that person will also be a mere figurehead. I think the Dems will form (or have formed) their own Committee for Public Safety, with some perhaps installed as Cabinet Secretaries, but many staying out of the spotlight. The real question is who will fill Robespierre’s shoes?

It’s “hoist with his own petard” (or “by his own petard”). A petard is a bomb, not some kind of sword, so “hoist on his own petard” doesn’t make sense.
I thought the quote was more like “All I have to to is watch me”
The heartbreak for me, concerning my father, the WW2 fighter pilot, instructor, test pilot and then one of the leading senior research engineers on the earliest unmanned space probes for NASA/JPL concerning the magnetic fields of the outlying planets, was the night he called me at home to ask how to operate a tv remote. This disease, Alzheimer’s and Dementia are bastards that must be cured. They take away those you love without actually taking their physical life. It is sad, cruel and heartbreaking. In time, it does take them, but I pray I go before such pain comes to me and my family. May our Lord give comfort to those going through such.
