Yes, Steve we are up for a real debate about the issues.
I watched one of your first backstage sessions. I have to agree with Stephen, it was excruciating. ๐
Horrific.
Newsweek is ironically wrong on the last acceptable form of prejudice, since they hate Christian white males so bad they cannot see it as prejudice. Christian white females are a close second as we’ll see shortly if ACB is nominated and if not, we’ll see their hate for any other non-following female (but since they won’t really be female but gender-traitors, that’ll make them acceptably hated).
A few weeks ago I was in a small South Georgia town. I went in the little locally owned store and saw the county sheriff. He was a big, burly, powerful looking older man. I walked up to him and told him how much I appreciate what he does for me, to keep me safe . Then I told him to remember that the great majority of people out there agree with me. I was shocked that he had actual tears in his eyes as he told me thank you. It made me realize that the people who defend our society and enforce the laws have it harder than we can ever imagine.
Steve: Face facts, you GREW into it!
Steve, I think w/ the success of long form, deep dive shows Rogan or Rubin, Molineux, a lot of the electorate would be up for and hour or so (not four) sit down w/ the candidates. Either w/ each other or individually.
Who’s not up for it are traditional campaign managers. I’m guessing the idea of the candidate speaking off the cuff over an extended period of time just scares the hell outta them. I suspect Trump’s people don’t take that conventional DC position.
When I was teaching Sixth Grade we would spend a week at Sci-Con (Science Conservation) camp in the Sierra Nevada foothills. On one day we would go up to General Grant Grove in the Kings Canyon National Park. We would tour the Giant Sequoias and hear a lecture from one of the park rangers. He or she would explain in detail ways the children could help to preserve not only these amazing trees but the California forests in general. He would also tell us how the U.S. Forest Service goes through annually and clears the brush, dead leaves, chaparral and dead trees from any areas near power lines or human habitation. Because of the vastness of CA’s forests they would divide the rest of the forest into plots and cover one plot yearly and I believe it took 10 years to complete the entire forest. In the afternoon, the Ranger would direct the students in a tree-planting exercise.
Unfortunately much of this changed when environmental groups got very active and made them leave the dead trees, etc. alone. Furthermore, during the Clinton administration, the Giant Sequoia National Monument involving 328,000 acres aggravated the problem. It led to the blocking of access roads which also had the affect of shutting down 3 local sawmills and making it impossible to get in and clear areas of forest litter. It also made the local ranchers stop allowing cattle and horses to graze their animals in the forests, not only costing them more money, but contributing to the litter problem. Now we have these immense fires and Mother Nature is wreaking her vengeance.
On top of these practices we also have messed up the water system by not building more dams. CA’s population has doubled since the amazing irrigation system plan was developed and not one new dam has been built so there is nowhere to store the water even during flood years. Plus they are pumping 80% of the water out into the Pacific Ocean leaving many of our third- and fourth-generation farmers devastated.
President Trump has visited CA several times and has removed the federal restrictions on the water problem but can’t get the governor to sign off on it. He has also provided monetary relief which was instead used to benefit illegal aliens (future voters) instead. And yet they are saying these problems are all his fault.
