I come across older Whittle video’s; and one way of recognizing the age is Scott Ott’s lack of a beard and mustache. Kinda funny, and I prefer the beard and mustache.
The other night, I watched “The Father of us All” from February 3, 2020. Scott broke the news to Bill that Rush was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. It was sad to see Bill’s reaction as he had not heard the news before then.
To be honest from the git-go, I am not a big fan of Rush Limbaugh. I do wish him well as he battles cancer.
As Bill gave tribute to Rush, he made a statement that in effect Rush never showed any ‘condescension toward the American people in any way.” Well, Bill, I have to disagree.
I used to listen to him years ago. And I’m afraid you couldn’t be more wrong. Fellow conservatives would get through and try to explain that NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) was bad and damaged jobs at least, at the worst, American workers would lose jobs.
He would huff and puff and proclaim his all knowledgeable self knew best, and he’d cut them off, frequently. This was around 2000 – 2003
On Saturday, February 1, 2003 tragedy struck. The STS-107 Shuttle Columbia exploded coming into the atmosphere, killing all seven astronauts. People were stunned as they watched pieces of it falling to the ground from across the sky.
On Monday morning, I turned on the radio to listen to Rush and what he’d have to say. His show came on and what was the first thing he mentioned? Not what was expected, that’s for sure!
He was all happy and talked about the celebrity golf tournament of which he’d been involved in the previous day. A golf tournament? Really? He had a lack of priorities and didn’t mention the disaster until afterwards.
That, and his treatment of conservatives who would get through on the phone lines, tell him how much they like his show and were unceremoniously cut off when they disagreed with him.
That and disregard for the Columbia disaster, was when I stopped listening to his show.
He’s a narcissist and I could not bear it anymore. I hope he’s able to beat the cancer, I truly do.
Oh, an additional note: Eventually RUSH saw the light about NAFTA.
