Here’s part of the solution. Paper ballots should be the norm. (I’m not going to address exceptions here. Not saying there shouldn’t be any, but they are beyond the scope of this post. Let’s just say exceptions should be rare and secure).
If you can’t go back to something human readable that a voter marked … so that you can reset the count to zero and count them again, we don’t know what you’re counting.
I’m going to take this further. I think that ballot security should START at the manufacturing end. Each ballot printed should be accounted for, WHETHER IT IS USED OR NOT, from its printing through its counting, and kept aside for recounts.
These went here. They were stored here. These were invalidated after a mis-mark and the voter was given a new one before he or she left because it didn’t make it to/through the counting machine. If the voter was no longer present, it was just invalidated.
These were counted. These were invalidated. These WERE NEVER USED. Every single one of them. Magnetic ink, serial numbers, watermarks, whatever it takes. EVERY ballot printed is accounted for.
What, you found some in a drawer? Where was the chain of custody broken, and who broke it? Jail time for them. Some showed up in boxes in a van? Are they duplicate or invalid serial numbers? Where did they come from? Who is going to jail over it?
This is the way it’s going to have to be run to thwart the Democrats’ rigging methods.

Very much agree. What I heard the other day was that many states are into contracts with Dominion for millions of dollars. Horrible. It will be a struggle and a huge expense to ditch what they currently are contracted for. But it will have to be done to have any confidence in future election processes.
Agree we need much better security. One problem prevalent in this election was observers not being allowed to observe or being kicked out. The people who count the ballots should be watched like a hawk with cameras, etc. Any “extremists” shouldn’t be allowed to count votes. This election appeared to be fraud on many levels . . . from the AG’s, Gov’s, all the way down to the people counting the votes. Shameful.
