Quick update, from what it looks like, i was wrong about it getting hacked, still a good idea to rotate passwords occasionally though.
Parler DID NOT shut down to any kind of security breach! After Apple, and Twitter and Face Book banned President Trump, then conservatives(over 750,000) moved to Parler! Fearing that President Trumps 74 million plus supporters, and rightly so, might make an exodus to Parler, Gab, MeWe, etc., they panicked and Apple and Google deactivated Parler App from their app stores. We started going direct to Parler using our web browsers. Big tech shit their pants and decided that Parler servers through Amazon would be shut off and gave Parler, according to a message by Parler CEO yesterday, 12 hours to copy all of their data off of Amazon’s servers! Parler CEO said they would be back up when he could find/buy servers to use! Maybe never, as this is Communist-Democrats punishing all Trump supporters and they are black balling all support for conservative social media sites! I expect MeWe may be next!
It wouldn’t surprised me if some large company paid some black hat hackers to have a go at them too. Amazon have turned their servers off though. When I started a business a number of years back my business partner insisted that our hosting was with a certain company in a weird little country that had no international information exchange treaties with the US or UK. Perhaps he was right all along.
I’ve recently moved some of my domains to GANDI purely because they rank the highest on the list of companies least likely to take you offline.
I have dream host maybe I should switch
the “security breach” is apparently because they used Amazon Web Hosting. guess you just cant trust bezos.
Parler is down because amazon turned of their servers. Whether there was a breech is a totally separate question.
