Conservatives must develop our own version of Woke-ism – a sleeping giant waking up to the tyranny of a rogue government that has been doing its dirty deeds decade after decade in stealth and by means of chicanery of every sort. A government so emboldened they are no longer acting in stealth – they are shoving it in our faces, lying with impunity, gaslighting us, vicious tax eaters who thirst for the blood in our sweat and the milk of human kindness in our souls. They will drain us dry if we let them. Coolidge called it.

that’s certainly all fine and dandy except when it comes to being that band of brothers needed at the last redoubt when the zombies fill the breach. hence we see the likes of mccain, cheney, collins, murkowski, romney, sasse, mcconnell and millions of followers chase their own ideologies and agendas whereas one (on aggregate) never sees the d’rat left turn on it’s own for any particular single agenda. in a nut shell….the right is too damn malleable.

I’m looking forward to reading Amity Shlaes biography Coolidge. He is, perhaps, the quintessential ideal of a conservative.
Her book The Forgotten Man is a clear-eyed revelation that the real forgotten are those of us who subsidize the funding of constituencies entrapped in FDR’s inaugural 1936 entitlement programs.
