Göring Spoke the Truth – MartyrMade Podcast explains it

Fat, dumb and happy Americans are well down this path.  Progressives are rubbing their hands and showing their teeth in ghoulish grins of glee at how easily so many can be led.

Field Marshall Hermann Wilhelm Göring (1893–1946) when put on trial at Nurenberg said the truth:

“Why, of course, the people don’t want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood.

But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship.

With respect to a Democracy they argued, the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States, only Congress can declare wars.

Göring replied: “Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”

After reading the viral thread by Darryl Cooper on why MAGA voters, including most of us here at BW.Com, believe the election was stolen,  I checked out some of his podcasts.  Grim and unutterably fascinating topics, most pertaining to the nightmare dreams of human history.  He is a former Navy Seal, researcher, writer, and the creator of The MartyrMade Podcast. MartyrMade draws on dramatic stories from the human past in order to examine questions about conflict, ideology, religion, and identity. He is also the co-host of The Unraveling podcast w/Jocko Willink.  I recommend checking him out if you don’t mind the possibility of nightmares.

I see and agree with your points but I have to make one of my own here. This is not a criticism of you or what you said …

One must be very, very careful applying the value “truth” to the words of someone like Field Marshall Hermann Wilhelm Göring. For example —

The thing is, during that war “the people” on the Allies side didn’t need to be told they were being attacked, they were actually under attack. The Poles didn’t need to be told anything to be aware of the Stuka dive-bombers overhead. The British didn’t need to be told they were under attack at Dunkirk or with Nazi bombers overhead during the Battle of Britain. It was a clear and demonstrable fact, a truth, that they were under attack.

It was the Nazis that made up the lie that their own German people were “under attack”. In that statement, Göring is revealing his own means and methods, not pointing out a broad “truth”. If he spoke truth, it was the truth of his own devious, evil machinations. There’s an important distinction.

Because the lies that work best are the ones that contain a grain of truth. The more truth a lie contains, the more effective it is.

This important distinction is how we recognize a convincing lie. It’s how we know that a Hermann Göring-type is the spider in the middle of the web. It’s what we need to watch for so that we’re not taken in by the lie. And …

You’re right. This is being done today by the Left. One example but not the only one is they’re telling Black People that they’re under attack, being hunted down like animals, etc. They are being mobilized and manipulated by Göring caliber lies.

There are spiders in this web. We need to find and neutralize them.

This is why a free and honest press is so vital to the health of a nation. The press too is doing exactly as it did in the days of Göring. That’s something that needs to be pointed out loud and clear.

If we didn’t have the internet and had to rely solely on broadcast and print media like we did 30 years ago, the battle would be lost before we were even aware there was any battle at all. This is why I get a bit snarky with people who complain about modern things like the internet, on the internet. They seem to me to be like people cursing farmers with their mouths full of food.

Consider this — There’s a reason why CNN is willing to accept as low as 25% and falling of its previous viewership. I am not sure of what the real, actual, true reason is for that and I don’t think it’s so Brian Stelter can be popular at cocktail parties. This is what scares me. There are spiders in the woodpile.
