Apple Pie Bread Pudding
Ingredients
6 Slices Bread(I strongly suggest brioche)
3 Eggs
1/2 cup Milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
3 apples(I used Honey Crisp), chopped
1 cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350
Slice bread into 1/2 inch cubes
In large bowl, combine eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon and stir until smooth
Add bread and stir until all the bread cubes have absorbed the milk mixture
Spread this bread mixture evenly in 9-inch round baking pan(I used a springform pan that I prepared by spreading butter on the bottom and up the sides)
In a large bowl, combine chopped apples, brown sugar, cornstarch and mix well
Spread the apples on top of the bread in the 9-inch round pan
Bake for 40 minutes, until edges are brown.
ENJOY!
I know this isn’t a cooking/baking site. But hey, most of us do enjoy eating. I enjoy BOTH. So, I thought I’d share a favorite recipe.
Consider it a culinary reprieve from the news of the day.

That sounds very good. Growing up we always used ‘stale bread’. It had to be dry and crispy to soak up the wetter ingredients.
Thanks, I printed that out for the next time I get a sweet tooth jag going. It sounds like it would be really tasty warmed up and with a scoop of vanilla ice cream? I assume you “strongly suggest” brioche because it’s dang near a pastry in itself?
Just used different breads and assessed on “taste”.
My taste buds awarded the “winner”.
Oh, if you use a springform pan, place it on a baking sheet. It can “leak”.
May you enjoy. Even the aroma while baking!!!!!
LOVE IT!! Thanks. Shoo-fly pie and Apple pan dowdy, makes my eyes light up and my stomach say HOWDY!
