… this is the second time he got some facts about Neil Armstrong wrong twice now. First with about six minutes to go to the end of his excellent “Apollo 11: What we saw.” He said Neil taught aerospace engineering at Purdue. Wrong. He graduated from Purdue, but taught at the University of Cincinnati from 1971 to 1979. “Met” him there, if I remember right, at 1978. See blog here titled “My encounter with Neil Armstrong” . Warning. It’s not that interesting. He said precisely three words to me. It took me longer to type it up than the encounter took. Then Bill said Armstrong died of old age (82) in 1982.Nope died of “complications after heart surgery”. In 2019, if I remember right, the paper Cincinnati Enquirer got and published info that a serious error by a nurse caused his death. There was a lawsuit but kept quiet. He might have lived longer.
