THANK A VETERAN (Christmas poem) I received the following. I had to share. TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HE LIVED ALL ALONE, IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE. I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE, AND TO SEE JUST WHO IN THIS HOME DID LIVE. I LOOKED ALL […]

I have a degree in Chemical Engineering and programmed computers for a.living for over 20 years. Married with 4 rescue dogs, no children. Christian, conservative for my whole life and am old enough to have voted for Ronald Reagan. And old enough (14) to watch the moon landing live. "Met" Neil Armstrong. See blog on this site titled "My encounter with Neil Armstrong." Warning. It really is not that interesting. My 4 mottos in chronological order: 1) I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. 2) I am not normal. Normal is boring. 3)If you can laugh at yourself, you will never cease to be amused.(consider this one to be the most important.) 4)Wisdom comes from experience. Experience comes from making mistakes. Some of us learn from other people's mistakes. Most of us must be the other people.
Does anyone know what happen to the normal third subject that should have been Bill’s from last week? The posting has been irregular recently, and I’m beginning to get a bit concerned. I know he’s been doing more himself, and hopefully he’s not getting overloaded.
Been thinking about posting this for awhile. Decided to pull the trigger. I have a possible solution to two issues in the news. First, I have a Chemical Engineering degree and did that for 3 years and then I was a programmer(4 languages)/systems programmer/Dasd (storage) admin/DBA in IDMS database for over 20. “Problem # 1: […]
Thought some good news would be welcome. First some background. I got my two covid (and no more) back before the problems were generally known (2020) 1. had to to keep my job. 2. In high risk group at the time. 65 years old. High blood pressure. Overweight. Nearly diabetic. (less so now. A1C at […]
My wife got a DNA test on ancestry, and I’m envious. She came out in decreasing order, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Norway, France, Benin and Togo. Cameroon and Congo, and lastly Panama. She looks entire white though. But now, with my help in her phrasing, if someone calls her a white supremacist, she can reply: […]
If you have a hardship issue or ANY problems with the IRS that they cannot or will not seem to solve, call the Tax Payers Advocate at 877-777-4778. They are NOT part of the IRS and report directly to Congress. Repeat: not part of IRS and report to Congress. But they can get any info […]
For all you math haters.
From someone who loves math, and does not hate math haters. Just being a goofball. That’s it! I have had enough of all your whiners complaining “I was told there would be no math.” Wimps. Anti math bigots. Math is awesome! You don’t know what you are missing. Giving cash to a cashier and figuring […]
Yes, I am Monty Python fan. So much so that when I was watching “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” with friends I was citing many lines as, or before they were being said, that they bet I couldn’t memorize the whole thing. That was a mistake. Before the internet, I had a VHS tape […]
I love Bill , but…
… this is the second time he got some facts about Neil Armstrong wrong twice now. First with about six minutes to go to the end of his excellent “Apollo 11: What we saw.” He said Neil taught aerospace engineering at Purdue. Wrong. He graduated from Purdue, but taught at the University of Cincinnati from […]
Some of my favorite videos
Since one show here was on favorite videos, and one was on music, I thought I’d share my top 5 Videos of a group I have all but one (the latest) CD of: the piano guys. I will list my top ten starting at 10 and counting down. Number one is a tie with my […]
First of of all I am not offended by Bill saying engineers are a bit odd (a bit? Try bunches!) and we are not too creative and don’t engage well with people. It can be true sometimes. I am trained as a Chemical Engineer (3 years doing that) and spent over 20 years programming. I […]
An inconvenient CO2 truth.
CO2 is a greenhouse gas, but its effect is minimal compared to water. CO2 is necessary for plants, and more is better, especially that we are relatively low. You probably know this. But here is something else. When water gets warmer, it holds less gasses. Gas expands quicker than liquid, which expands quicker than solids. […]
This brings me joy
I was sent this.
2nd Amendment rambling.
In another comment I mentioned machine gun and my brain did one of my infamous double jumps into the Second Amendment. Then I had to think of a title. A lot of you will know it thought about all or most of this, but some will not and it may be useful. 2nd Amendment: “A […]
Touching story
Not political. Warning! Not a sad story, but if you love dogs, you may cry. Now some background. My wife and I have 4 rescue dogs. Jack, male 10 years old, oldest by a month, 63 lbs by DNA part Harrier (harehound), Norwegian Elkhound, Scotish Terrier and Fox Terrier. Sweet, protective and friendly. The story […]
