I hosted The Catholic Current 032522. I review the Catholic teaching on just war. Then I conclude that we have to fight a culture war now because we first surrendered the spiritual war—without firing a shot. Here’s audio and notes:

I usually listen to Father McTeigue’s podcast from here on BW each week, though I rarely if ever comment on the content.
I’m not Catholic but it has been my experience that there is substantial Christian wisdom and edification to be had from sincere, learned spiritual leaders in all bona fide Christian denominations. I listen to the Catholic Current because I have gotten just that from Father McTeigue. Listening when The Spirit speaks is never a waste of time no matter which mouth He chooses to express Himself from.
Though I’m not Catholic and never will be, it has also been my experience that trained, educated, sincere Catholic clergy and their ancillaries are among the very best equipped to deal with many Christian doctrines. Father McTeigue is a prime example of that sort.
There was a time many years ago when a Catholic Nun was someone I counted among my best friends. She was an extremely bright person and knew her stuff well. We used to have some of the most interesting and marvelous discussions and occasionally solid but amicable disagreements. As you ought to imagine the relationship was purely platonic, she was at that time 40 years my senior and besides … Nuns are married. But as I friend I loved her dearly and cherished her companionship. I learned much from that lady. She’s gone now and I have no doubt whatsoever where she wound up. In my prayers I always ask God to say “Hi” to her for me.
Being as I rarely, and to my recollection never have left a comment to Father McTeigue here on Bill Whittle I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that your efforts are appreciated. We’re listening to you even those of us who are not Catholic. Please keep up the good work. Thank you very much.
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement.
