Did Roger Penrose Finally Figure Out What Came “Before” The Big Bang?

This latest theory may well reveal not only how the Big Bang started but how our universe may end… Fascinating interview!

Yet another attempt by people so enamored with Ockham’s Razor that they completely ignore it while trying to disprove God and confirm their atheism. Give me a break.
Thousands of manuscripts compared to each other to validate the eyewitness accounts of the Creator of life and the universe as well as His miracles and Resurrection proving His omnipotence, and we’re still listening to this nonsense.
It’s interesting from a discovery standpoint, but let’s stop pretending that the weight of the evidence doesn’t prove the existence of God.

Wow how’d we make this about religion?? No one is denying God here.

I’m going to put this down here as a reply to myself because I want people to read the other comments above first.

Science and the Christian Faith are not at odds. Science is the means by which we strive to know the methods of God and to as best we’re able understand the wonders of His Creation.

Not everything that involves science is anti-Christian. Not all topics that bring up scientific information, in fact the percentage is quite small, are “trying to disprove God”. There was nothing like that in this video. This video made no claims on the existence of God whatsoever. It was theologically neutral. It’s just a very interesting science video and that’s all it is trying to be.

In fact, from a Christian viewpoint it could be said that the theory discussed in this video, if it ever is proven correct, provides an interesting insight into the Character of God. Because this video addresses conceptual aspects of infinity and eternity and both of those realms are the abode of Divinity. A surer grasp of both concepts can only aid us as we seek to understand El Shaddai.

There are two kinds of people then that would take exception and see the science in this video as an opportunity to demonstrate their own virtue.

There are those who would say “See, we’ve explained it and God didn’t show up.” The other side of that same coin is those who would say “See, there go those science people ‘trying to disprove God’ again.”

They’re both exactly the same type of snarky, snakey, snide, self-righteous virtue signalling nincompoops. Each prancing and mincing the signalling of their own virtue to what they believe is the audience that will most appreciate what truly, amazingly, astoundingly wonderful people they are …

And neither is smart enough to understand the information being covered in this video.

The proof of that is if they did understand it, no matter which of those sides they’re on, they’d know there’s no grounds to get out their little virtue pry bars and shoehorn in their virtuous views on religion vs. science at all. Or pose as a pseudointellectual dilettante by name dropping a concept like “Ockham’s Razor” — Yet not only fail to realize that has nothing to do with this video but can’t even get the common spelling of Occam correct — It is always the knee-jerk reactionary response of a small minded dullard to attack what is beyond him. It’s the same thing as driving a wooden stake into the heart of a corpse or sacrificing goats to the Moon Goddess. It is the death reflex of an armadillo on a highway to jump straight up as a truck speeds overhead. The larger picture and the broader horizons are never available to such people and you can know them when you encounter them thereby.

Poor little armadillos, you should pity them. Their human equivalent, not so much.

Thanks. Sadly, the person who would benefit the most probably wouldn’t have a clue what I’m talking about. Being acutely aware of that fact, my post above is intended for all others, people sharper than the average cue ball.

I’m glad you replied to him. That locks a comment so that it can’t subsequently be edited nor deleted.

Going by previous experience if I had replied to his nonsense directly he’d have come back with a flood of multiple paragraph posts overflowing with rationalizations and even more specious hogwash. All attempting to prove he’s right, not by logic and reasoning but by dint of sheer mass. (By which he would likely think I’m referring to a church service.)

Still, I had to say something. There is imbecility that should not be left unchallenged. Even if only for the benefit of other innocent people. People of sound intellect and character who might not know any better but are willing and have the capacity to learn.

It’s not possible to have an adult discussion with this sort of armadillo. There is no point you can make nor any form of adult discourse that will get through to someone like that. His purpose is not conversation and the exchange of ideas. It’s to defend his “rightness”, virtue signal what an amazingly wonderful person he is and show everyone that he’s not a victim of the Dunning-Kruger effect. Even though that’s exactly what he is and of course that’s obvious to everyone but him.
