Bill’s back…will not be featured in this episode, but you may catch a glimpse of it when he rises to answer the doorbell. A small region of Bill’s front is visible for most of the rest of the show. Please forward complaints to the appropriate authorities.

Hey @Scott Ott thanks for the shout-out, and the character from Arrested Development you were thinking of was Tobias, who is how I imagine Brian Stelter to be like in real life.
I actually ran into this internet subsidy here in California. It started when I saw an add for broadband service at $49 a month. I was pretty upset, since I’ve been paying almost twice that amount for their lowest broadband speed. Soi sent my wife to cancel the damn thing, since we have been talking about taking a break from internet use. We’ve racked up health red box collection of movies the kids love to watch and have been upset anyway at the degrading quality of streaming content. We had already canceled Netflix because of their Cuties garbage. Anyway, when she was canceling they brought up this government program but my wife declined saying, “No thanks. If we can’t afford it we don’t need it.” Gotta say. I was pretty proud at that moment. They ended up offering us that advertised price for a year and that has not been too bad. We’ll keep it for now, but I can see how this program would only be taken advantage mostly by current subscribers looking for a discount on their monthly costs.
Mills Bomb, introduced in 1915. The British Army’s first frag grenade.
@scott-ott I think this is the case you mentioned about Fulton’s steamboats:

Sullivan v. Fulton Steamboat Company, 19 U.S. 6 Wheat. 450 450 (1821)
The town in Louisiana is Homa, not Homer.
There are 2 with close spellings: Houma and Homer both exist in Louisiana. There is no Homa as you say in your post.
Enlist the best skeet shooters to knock down drones.
Scott, it’s parish, and Homer (my hometown for about the first 5% of my life). I don’t know if it is the seat of Claiborne parish.
Oh, and the drone dropping charges is cool, although not for the dropped upon.
I always thouht that Officer and a Gentleman was overrated too – I thought every character (including Gere after his face turn) was a self-absorbed a=hole. OK, maybe not Lou Gossett.
And Rocky III also gave us the memorable “Two men frolicking andhugging in the waves and still coming off as surprisingly completely hetero” moment
I agree with Bill on the abortion reaction. The news media and Democrats (but I repeat myself) have been so heavy on the shrill screaming and coverage of unhinged actions being taken by leftists that if you trusted them you may think America wants what they want. It appears to be proving to be the opposite which is not surprising since 99% of what you see from them are all lies.
The sad part is that no one seems to be held accountable for lawless behavior on the side of the left. We need to restore law and order if we are to keep this republic. I’ll feel relief and hopeful when we start seeing equal justice under the law. Garland is proving to be the absolute bullet that was dodged thanks to Mitch.
Scott! Steve said “sound quality wise”. AAEEIHHH! English foolish.
Scott – of that big list Steve put out there of movies from 1982 (really, you didn’t find a comely coed at PSU to take to Tootsie?) My Favorite Year is one I think you would really like.
Come to think of it, Tootsie might be interesting as seen through the new “woke” lens.
I am sure I am in the minority, but Diner doesn’t stand the test of time.
First Blood is actually a good movie.
Other good ones on that list.
I just watched Diner for the first time in the last year, and no, it doesn’t stand the test of time. I also watched The Big Chill years after the fact and kept wondering if there was a single character out of that group of whiny aging hippies I was supposed to like.
Having a character to like in the Big Chill is why the Meg Tilly character is present. She is the one with the ability to be introspective. Pretty much everyone else is a train wreck.
Conelrad 640 and 1240 AM.
Starlink is why HOAs and covenants exist. Can’t have those ugly satellite dishes uglifying the neighborhood w/ all those satellite dishes on every roof.
Ah, “The Wrath of Khan.”. Love the movie. Always found it interesting that Khan kept referencing ” Moby Dick” in quotes or parphrasing. All without, knowing or not caring, about the message:. Obsession and revenge can kill you. Chinese quote: “Before you begin a journey of vengeance, dig two graves. More Chinese saying I like: A Chinese curse: ” May you live in interesting times.”
Woot! Lookin’ foward to geeking out on Star Trek
Oh yeah. We are definitely talking Cordoba.

Re: not the Russians trained for war. Had a friend of a friend that commanded OpFor tanks at The National Training Center. The opposition forces at the Nation Training Center cheat.
I’ll bet they’re now regretting not running through the Kobiyashi Maru properly while they were in trianing!
Who’s the guy sitting in Zo’s chair?
They couldn’t keep talent like Zo so they had to hire this new guy.
Hey Scott, for health’s sake…regarding those wireless earbuds. I’d recommend checking to see how high of EMF they produce. Either looking into the particular brand, or get a EMF meter. There’s at least one out there that’s extremely high…dangerously so.
Speaking of the Star Trek franchise…Leftism/Woke-ism has destroyed the franchise. All three of the newest ventures are filled with indoctrination. You hate to see it, but beam me up Father, there’s no Life left here.
Technical comment: Sounds like Bill’s mic is hotter than Scott and Steve’s.
Glad you’re back Bill. Also glad you mentioned the hair…I didn’t want to ask. lol
Gotta love the Critical Drinker! Victor Davis Hanson videos are also great. Like Thomas Sowell, very, very smart man!
Welcome back Bill. Scott in Louisiana there are Parishes not counties and Homer is in Claiborne Parish in the NW corner of the state near the Tx, Ark, La border. Those small bombs are interesting and reaction to the SCOTUS leak is informative.
Darn it, you beat me on the Parish comment! I lived in Lake Charles Louisiana Calcasieu Parish for 5 years. Heel of the boot of Louisiana next to Texas and the Gulf. Cajun country. So flat that if you stood an a chair anywhere in the parish, you could see the Gulf. (Almost. On a clear day if no buildings between you and the Gulf, you could see the Gulf if on the fourth floor or higher.) Land of two sizes of mosquitos. Small enough to go through a screen door, and big enough to open one. The small ones were voracious.

Our fact checkers should be committed? Well, probably.
