Bill Whittle always thought that overturning Roe v. Wade would so enrage the Left that Democrats would ride a tidal wave in the next election. However, the first polling after the leak of Associate Justice Samuel Alito’s majority opinion shows a slight surge for Republicans. Is America more conservative now than it was when Roe came down in 1973?

Instead of waiting for the next election cycle, you can start making a difference today.
One way is to directly support agencies in your communities that provide women with life affirming help with unexpected pregnancies. There are pregnancy resource centers in most towns. They are not funded by the government – like Planned Parenthood – and rely on local donations and help from individuals and churches.
Many women choose abortion because they don’t know there is actual help available. They believe that they can’t raise a child on their own, their life is too complicated already or perhaps their education/career goals can’t be reached if they are a mother. These are lies. While it may not look like the plan they had mapped out, they can get through this difficult situation with help without going through with an abortion.
One great example is Abby Johnson’s ministry LoveLine which provides practical assistance to women and their unborn babies. https://everydayblessed.com/abby-johnsons-pro-life-loveline-ministry-gets-off-to-an-incredible-start/
In Seattle there is a low cost/no cost fully accredited medical clinic that is Planned Parenthood’s worst nightmare. They are meeting women where they are and loving them as Christ calls us to love those most in need. They see the women as people and not profit.
Also, there is a new movie coming out – https://www.thematteroflife.org/
It is a powerful, well presented look at the issue of abortion, what abortion is, how we got to this point in our country and how many, many faith-filled people are coming together to make abortion an unthinkable option by providing help, hope and love to women and their babies. God is on the move!
There are also groups that help women (& fathers) heal from abortions.

Where there is life, there is hope!

Besides the tragic loss of life, abortion has also had an economic and cultural impact. There have been approximately 63 million abortions since 1973. For those that would have grown to adulthood, their contribution to the IRS, Social Security, etc. is 0. And their contribution to science and the arts is also 0. Who knows how many geniuses never had a chance to develop their ideas?

The reason there is no backlash is that we’ve already taken the liberals behind the online woodshed and taught them a lesson…on everything from abortion to gun control to the stolen election and the globalist fascists behind it. While the FOX attorneys and conservative radio might be to chicken-shit to say it, patriots have prevailed. We are fed up for being called racists while the black community in contrast gets a free pass for committing the most violent crimes in our society by ten country miles. Enough is enough, and everyone at this point knows it. We are just in a holding pattern until November.

I find it amusing that the left can’t get its story straight. On one hand, you have AOC saying that Elon Musk’s meme about the left becoming more extreme is wrong, and that it’s the right that became extreme. On the other, you have Elizabeth Warren pointing out that Republicans have worked to overturn Roe for decades.
Thanks Liz.

I do think that a majority of Americans are pro-hiring-someone-for-fetus-killing, unfortunately, in early pregnancy. But, as Steve pointed out, allowing for infanticide is beyond the pale for most Americans. As a physician, the idea of aborting a viable-outside-the-womb life is nothing more than murder. Killing a newborn is unfathomable. How the Left can justify this is mystifying, tragic, crazy, unexplainable, and, like Bill said, mortifying.

clip from the article
“As recently as two weeks ago, however, the reported majority in favor of striking down Roe was still together, sources told The Washington Post. “[T]hree conservatives close to the court” told WaPo that “the majority of five justices to strike Roe remains intact,” a question that has stirred those on both sides of the debate that has erupted around the future of abortion law in the U.S. in the wake of the leaked draft.”

One of the problems Republicans seem to have is ‘learned helplessness’. Having been stuck for so many years in the role of Loyal Opposition, they act, even when in actual control, as though they need permission from Democrats in order to do anything of consequence.

True dat. Repubs have to learn how to go on the offensive. They’re fundamentally clueless about that. No quarter given. Take the leftists OUT.

It seems that Pres Trump and now Gov Desantis has shown some, as more are being outspoken publicly. Hopefully they can be outspoken smartly and not like some of the wacky that took advantage of the tea party’s grassroots nature to pop up like weeds.

One beautiful part of the current stupidity is watching where Libtarditude contradicts itself. Gavin Newsom got railed for saying that women give birth. The current “Legalize abortion” legislation that the Radical extremist Dems wrote up had to have a lot ofd woke language sliced and diced. And now there are protesters showing up at Pelosi’s CA home, and I’ve seen Psaki’s address floating around on social media.
I should have bought stock in Orville Redenbacher

It is a Spiritual vacuum, which manifests in the moral vacuum necessary to accept the slaughter of innocent children in the womb. My prayer is that the current trends means that America is experiencing one last great Spiritual renewal before His Return. MARANATHA!

I agree with Scott in the sense that it’s too early to tell what this draft opinion is going to do for Repubs. At that same time, I disagree with him that the Repub base is looking at this opinion as the pinnacle of Republican effort over the past 20-30 years. No, the Republican party has made a herculean effort in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in far too many areas – mostly involving budgeting and financial restraint, not to mention allowing the size of government to dwarf the planet. No, those issues are still front and center – this draft opinion by Alito is but one bright, shiny moment in a long history of “WTF are you career Republican politicians doing?”
That said, I don’t believe that the country has grown more “conservative” necessarily. I think the leftist shift radically toward the left and all of the complete nonsense they’re about – transgender this, gay that, wokeism, reflects how they’ve successfully altered the political spectrum. Normal Americans aren’t necessarily more conservative – those radical leftists have pushed the left end of that spectrum way more left than it was 30 years ago.

A lot of “I didn’t leave the Democrat party, it left me” attitudes?
I would agree that we’re probably not that much more conservative, but that gulf from the middle to the left is larger than the distance from center to right. There would also be a reaction of the kids (and really grand kids) to some of their Leftist older family members, that after having worked for a few years and seeing the ideas of their parents fail (possibly because the parents or grand parents were either in their own bubble or stuck in ivory towers) they have not followed to the Left as their parents would think.

But once some of those in the middle make a break from the left in some ways it’s easier to make a break in other ways, once ‘party loyalty’ is no longer a thing. The sense of tribalism that makes people support what ‘their party’ supports being destroyed in a mad rush to the left leaves people more open to reconsider their opinions on a great many things.

Yeah, once you lose some of those friends and family members to the insanity sickness, what they think no longer matters, and you can do what you want without fear (because they aren’t talking to you anymore and won’t be harping that you’re doing something wrong).
