The WEF and the “Great Reset clan” do want to infect Russia with wokeness and absorb it into their new world order. I don’t blame Russia for resisting. If the Scotts of the world don’t see this they aren’t paying attention.
Not that Gabriella isn’t good but here’s a picker that you should listen too… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S33tWZqXhnk
i did not realize that Bill hated me so much, I might have known this before I signed up to support the channel. aka The Whistler
Steve is so funny.
Thank you
The decision to make Velma Dinkely gay is simply ridiculous. It seems like a re-boot to a franchise is being under taken and now we have to say, OK which character can we make non-straight.
Like Bill – I was a Velma fan. This geeky engineering kid liked, and knew many, nerdy attractive women who just didn’t feel it necessary to flaunt their assets, as it were.
Real shame that a character that showed little girls that being the smart one was a good thing, now has to have some other characteristic to make her less of a main stream character.
Linda Cardellini is my favorite movie Velma. But then I have an affinity for petite, curvy, black-haired women. Oh, and breakfast food!
Um….Daphne,Daphne,Daphne. There, I said it..
And growing up on the real Bugs Bunny cartoons , the loony toons and merry melodies 3 minute shorts, I always disliked the Hanna Barbera style of crappy animation. Baseball Bugs and The Rabbit of Seville were amazing showcases of the cartoon style of animation. Just watch the feet when the humans were walking in Scooby Doo. Cheap lazy animation.
And, wasn’t this the same time period that spawned “The Electric Company ” and “H.R. Puff n Stuff”? Dreadful times.
Yea, Daphne., whatever. Anther hot chick with whom I had no shot, dating some tall doofus.
The hot, nerdy, smart girl who wasn’t all caught up in her looks, yea that was for me.
Been with her for over 30 years now!
And you are absolutely correct about the animation quality. Real bugs was the best. All the others were despicable. π
Any film that champions the sin and the sinner, I’d rather not watch it. Glorifying sin isn’t something a Christian should encourage. We’re in this woketopian nightmare because of our normalization of sin.
Have I missed it or something, I cannot recall you speaking about the Zelinskyy corruption.
I do love it when Russia (and China) bang on about “colonialism” and “militarism”. Cheeky gits. The only reason why Holy Mother Russia and the Middle Kingdom/PRC are any bigger than Germany today is because of sustained and highly aggressive militaristic colonialism going back centuries. People tend not to notice so much because they didn’t have to get into ships to do it.
We’ll agree to keep Madonna (or Madge, as we call her) over here, BUT, you guys have to promise to keep John Oliver over there.
Duran Duran are named after the villain in the sci-fi film Barbarella. The character was played by Milo O’Shea, who later appeared in one of their videos.
I wish you’d put the Member’s Blog links back on the landing page. Often it never even occurs to me to look because it’s not there anymore. There are only so many hours in my day that I can spend on internet activities and being as you don’t list the blogs anymore I generally end up going elsewhere after watching whatever the day’s video releases on BWC are.
Hmm, I actually like it. When I hit the home page and have watched the videos, I hit the link to the right and get a very full page of “Recent Comments” some going back to older vids. Makes it easy to see them in context of the video.
I always forget to check that and miss out on a lot of good blogs. In fact, I had so forgotten to go see what’s on the blogs for so long it had completely slipped my mind until Scott brought it up in this episode of Backstage. Clearly you’re not as forgetful as me. π
Oh, no. My CRS is fairly advanced. That’s why I like having that “Recent Comments” link in eye sight on the front page. Reminders that are in my face are much more likely to work.
When my wife finally realized that I wasn’t ignoring her, just CRS; she picked one thing a day to remind me about and that one thing would usually get done. She is much less ornery now. π
Yeah, I’m terrible at remembering to do things. I always tell my clients that if something they want isn’t done to remind me/ask for a progress report/complain because the odds are good I’ve forgotten. I’m not at all offended when someone does something like that because I know I’m absent minded and it’s me, not them.
I had gotten used to the last few blogs being linked down the left side of the page and just scanning them quick to see if there was anything that interested me before leaving the site. When they changed the page layout to the current one and took those links off it’s like the little box with all that stuff on the top right was in my visual blind spot.
It doesn’t help that the site loads so slow either. By the time I click on that I’ve already been fighting with slow loads to get back to the landing page and usually just go somewhere else. I don’t know why this particular site loads so slowly and I don’t know if it’s just me or a bigger issue other people have too. It seemed like it went away and got fast for a while and now it’s back to taking its own sweet time to load a page. I have a screamin’ fast internet connection so I know it’s not that.
I think 90% of the changes that Scott makes are to speed up the loading of the site, as this has been a chief complaint.
I have noticed that it is much faster for me than it had been in the past, but it is still one of the slower loads of any site I frequent.
Have to think part of it is site construction, part is the hosting service.
The latter more your area of expertise I should think.
On the former, there appears to be a lot of pieces loading on the front page, many of which are member specific.
e.g.: The little bell on the lower left with notifications of comments made. That is particular to me. That means as the site is loading, it needs to pull up the current data for me.
Not a big deal with <10,000 members, but still one more task that may be done in sequence prior to the loading.
Just one example of a speed bump. Put a few dozen in place that don’t exist on other sites, and this one slows down.
Ron, I googled CRS as a medical condition. Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) β sometimes called cytokine storm or cytokine-associated toxicity β is a condition that develops when your immune system responds too aggressively to infection. Wow. I hope you can manage that. Looks like Scott is helping you by moving the blog link to the upper right hand corner.
Well, I successfully fought off the big bad bug for 2 1/2 years, so my immune system is pretty good..
But, for me CRS has been Can’t Remember S41T. It advances at a pretty good rate but is not nearly as debilitating as whatever has infected the current inhabitant of 1600 PA AVE.
First, I stand informed and corrected. Although I really thought that somehow a cytokine storm might somehow distract you enough to prevent recalling simple things.
This small city (8 to 10K) of us at BWDC is very much like family, so when I read that Ron Swanson’s Alter Ego had CRS, I kind of freaked and immediately snapped to the worst possible outcome.
Once I read your last comment, I went from
CRS to UGH to WTF to FFS to ROTFL ….PDQ.
Thanks for the new (at least to me) acronym, CRS.
That one-star on Tucker was saying the Russians are totally winning this thing?! Still?! Tucker’d be better off talking to the Russian frog puppet over at Binkov’s Battlegrounds. Or maybe Tucker can get Lazerpig on for a segment.
Back when I was an editor, just for shits & grins, I cut down ST:TMP to the length of a TOS episode. 52-54min. The film plays so much better at that length.
Batgirl is more valued than London After Midnight? Wow.
There was Scrappy-Doo and also that idiot country-bumpkin cousin that Scooby had.
Durban Duran is from Barbarella.
Keith Richards sang the lead on “Happy,” which got a lot of airplay. Here it is live in 2018. The audio’s better on the album (Exile on Mainstreet – 1972.) But this is Richards singing it forty six years later.

Oh, and it got released as a single.
In the ‘Supernatural/Scooby Do’ crossover episode; Velma had the hots for Sam Winchester.
“They” ruined Hocus Pocus 2 as well by putting drag queens (show) in it.
Please do a segment on the very distinguished, textbook-writing, chemistry professor – Dr. Jones – at NYU who gets fired because his class is too hard. Forever, this class is the great “weed-out” of the serious pre-med students and the wannabes. At Emory, people would forfeit their tuition and drop out for a semester if they took the first test and worried about not being able to bring up their grade.
Unfortunately, we should expect this to get worse as less people want to become physicians.
An interesting diversity of topics.
One that has .. irked? me for the last few years is how sports jocks are ok, running on and on about sports stats that are otherwise meaningless, yet geeks in table top games or many other areas just as important are looked down on as nerds.
“Those who do learn from history are doomed to watch …. ” I have seen that elsewhere, though not as a comic I think.
