When I, as an individual representing only myself, send a small donation to a political person, organization or party I am doing so because I support what they stand for and I understand that the person, organization or party is not interested in my opinion or in giving me an audience with them as I have already demonstrated that I am in line with all or most of their agenda.
When I, as an individual representing my self and/or others send a large donation to a political person, organization or party I am doing so because I support some of what they are promoting and we understand that I will be given an audience to give input on that which we do not mutually agree and that my input will be given serious consideration and that any decision and legislation made by them, involving my concerns, will include positive influence toward my interests and that is exactly why I gave them a large donation and that is exactly why they accepted my large donation.
I believe it’s called ‘quid pro quo’, what the president was charged with, and that raises this question, is there a politician that does not or has not engaged in ‘quid pro quo’?
Just about every person, organization and party in the political realm is doing exactly what the president was charged with in spite of it being possible that this president is one of the few ‘politicians’ that has most likely not engaged in ‘quid pro quo’ in the history of politics in general.
Large donations are destroying the political structure.
The large donations represents politicians giving positive outcomes for those that have money and influence to be able to get more money and influence or both.
The people that the politician is constitutionally required to represent have ideas and ideals that are worthy of the politicians attention but they are not solicited as there is no ‘value’ attached to them.
The bottom line is that constituents, the foundation of America, are not represented and the few that are represented are those that are mostly responsible for all that is deplorable in current American life.
The political structure is not operating as designed, is disintegrating as we watch and is directly linked to the recipients willing acceptance large donations and the pious dismissal of those that contribute little financially.
