According to Ronna McDaniel (@GOPChairwoman), at the Duluth “political protest” last night:
- 60% of attendees were NOT Republican
- 20.9% were Democrat
- 17.2% did not vote in 2016
- 8.4% have not voted in last 4 elections
I haven’t seen a firm number for how many people were there, but Trump said at the rally that it was “tens of thousands.” If these numbers are typical, then Dan Bongino is correct that this is a base election, and Trump is growing his base, while it’s doubtful Biden is growing his.
Second statistic: according to C-Span’s poll, 69% of those responding to the poll thought Trump won the debate.
Third statistic: a Telemudo poll showed that 66% of its viewers (i.e., Spanish speakers) thought Trump won the debate.
Incidentally, the other Village People song playing at Trump’s rallies (besides “YMCA”) is “Macho Man.” (Yes, really.)
