I hate to be the bearer of this news, but who among us didn’t ultimately see it coming in the mad world we inhabit. Via @ConceptualJames, fodder for a future TSL episode:
The irony of a parasitic belief system infecting this particular host is no doubt lost on the parasite.

Who is Noah Hawley, and why should I care?
The first two were classic, the first one a horror story, the second a sci fi action flick. Beyond that, I can’t say I bothered.
I have no idea what that even means. They are going to create a future where Ripley isn’t a bad ass? Makes it more of a dictatorial hierarchy?
Well, yet another movie on which I won’t have to spend money.
I’m guessing it means that the face-hugging, chest-chomping aliens are in fact oppressed marginalized persons who are entitled to the flesh of their gestational hosts as reparations. Their actions are an understandable response to human interplanetary colonialism, and we need to be quiet, take a back seat, and listen to what they have to teach us so we can learn to be open-minded allies who embrace and are fully supportive of their indigenous ways. Also, we will learn that “my body, my choice” is in this case a tool of reactionary bourgeois sentimentalism, and our narrow notions of corporeal self-ownership are anachronistic impediments to trans-species social justice.
Am I close?
Lord, I hope not. But probably too close for comfort. Hard pass.
