Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims
may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons
than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may
sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who
torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so
with the approval of their own conscience. — C. S. LEWIS, from “God in the Dock”
With your discussion of “Arrogance” and “Fortitude”, I as you generally, wed the two, relative to today’s anti-American, communist assault on “We The People”, at least those of us who honor the goodness of the nation with all its historical and contemporary flaws. After all, it is we and our forerunners who are responsible for what we have from America’s beginning to now.
Having gained some fundamental understanding of our planned form of governance, culture and economy by the early 1960’s, I concluded individual liberty provided opportunity that utopian or tyrannical control did not, and chose the former. The arrogance of another person or group to demand I adhere to their dictated method of “existence”, more important “life” was criminal in my mind, as The Founders established “The Rule Of Law” in The U.S. to provide for each citizen to manage by self determination and personal responsibility.
Those willing to test themselves in every conceivable way to improve, and by extension potentially others, they likely would require courage and fortitude. Plus there is an inertia I’ve recognized in my life that filters to others, as one sees or generates opportunity in America and utilizes it.
What a terrific place to live, if you use what is available, or develop something new that is an enhancement to life and living.
We societally throughout our history, have made provision for assisting others in the nation and around the globe, unlike any others in world history.
Each American now must decide where they’ll place their chips and what they’ll do and how they’ll do it, in determining their and the nation’s future.
Who and how many are paying attention?

Mr. Zo, please tell me where you got your agronomy and plant genetics credentials. Prove to me that GMOs are #1 dangerous, poisoning the planet, and harming people and livestock; and #2 “sinful”.
Also, please prove to me that you know what GMO is and why it is done.
“I was an atheist (really?) but have been reborn in Jesus Christ and am now specialer than you you lost nonbeliever.”
^^^^^^arrogance
Zo’s argument for the bible is devoid of logic. There are many stories that teach morality. Getting the message from those stories without having to believe the stories describe real events does not make the messages ineffective for being taught via stories.
The bible is full of contradiction, immorality, and absurdities we know are unreal. It is a collection of myth, and not even original.
If there are entities that can travel the galaxy then they have a reason for going out and are looking for something. Making friends with Earth life can’t be assumed to be goal number one.
True knowledge can lead to humility instead of arrogance. The more I learn and know about whatever, the more I know there is more than I can ever learn.
I can’t do that, Dave…
“Yes,… yes you can, HAL, … PPUUULLLLLEEEAAAZZZZZZZZEEEE!!!!! open the door, HAL!
AI = arguing inconsequentially.
“The Arrogance” of A.I. was so perfectly portrayed by Dr. Richard Daystrom and his M5 Computer in Star Trek….so many years ago. As if Gene Roddenberry, DC Fontana and Laurance Wolfe were warning us.
Daystrom talking to the M5 in his classic meltdown…”you are great, I am great”. That scene, so long ago, always stuck with me.
I always thought taht the WWF made a big mistake not marketing Rick Martel’s personal cologne…

Regarding the part about AI…this has been my point against Evolutionism. We were created perfect with the capacity to sin. Genetic Entropy (death) is the result of Man choosing to be as God…being with Him wasn’t enough.
The proof of this is in all the amazing structures made by ancient Man. Now, since Genetic Entropy (death) entered the world, we need technologies to contemplate our creations because we’ve lost the genetic material that made it possible for us to do amazing things with our own hands.
Here’s a couple of videos from a friend of mine that breaks it down nicely.

Evolutionism is a made up word used by those who have near zero understanding of the genuine science of Evolution, or of authentic science itself. Using Evolutionism does not make you look smart. It is an indication of a hole in your education, or a mind with doors shut tight against knowledge, authentic, real knowledge that might challenge one’s cherished misperceptions.

You are the down voter, aren’t you?
No…since I found out down voting has the effect it has, I won’t do that even to trolls.
Theists when challenged on their beliefs.
I attempted to share a link for validation, but this website keeps flagging me when I share links.
I think I offered this link to you before. “Bible-Believing Scientists of the Past” from ICR.
I’m so glad I’m in great company of people, as you implied to be, ‘uneducated’.
Here’s the links to answer the questions you asked me in my comment today 4/19/21.
Galatians 5:22-23 “…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Zo’s preferred Bible version is the one on the right) https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians5:22-23&version=NASB,AMP,KJV,GNV,TLV

Y’all just keep getting better and better with this series. Thank you again. I admit that I have never looked at AI in this context.
Arrogance is often simply insecurity, posturing.
How about attacking narcissism next?
With the recent advancements in AI, why hasn’t the energy crisis been solved yet? It seems to me that machine intelligence could figure out cold fission or some other source of clean energy that is sustainable.
The energy “crisis” will never be “solved” because it is too useful a tool for the maintenance of power by our “betters.”
The reality is, there isn’t an energy crisis.
I can tell you’re judgmental just by looking at you. Great video guys! Thanks!
Steven Hawking was the one who suggested caution when looking for other civilizations.
This is a very good topic. I was particularly drawn to the story about the person who questioned the wisdom of telegraphing our location, our culture, our technological limitations to the universe, on the off-chance that an aggressive race will follow our breadcrumbs back to Earth and decide we would make for a dandy race of slaves. That brought back memories of the first time I watched the movie “The Thing” – the original 1950’s era film starring James Arness as the alien. As a child, I was affected most by the climax of the film, the scene where the men set a trap for the creature, and just before the trap was sprung, the scientist/intellectual of the group stepped between the alien and the electrical grid that was set to fry the thing. The scientist demands that they don’t kill the creature – which itself has been killing people throughout the film – and instead study it, learn from it, befriend it. It comes from an advanced race, his argument went, so we must be able to reason with it. After the scientist’s plea, the alien simply bats the egghead aside and unknowingly steps on the electrified plate on the floor and is fried into oblivion. One observation I made as a young lad watching that film for the first time was that the scientist somewhat bore a resemblance to Lenin.
The arrogant assumption that other civilizations in the galaxy are – “naturally!” – going to be peaceful and benevolent is naive at best, and using the people of Earth as a barometer of whether an intelligent, technologically-advanced race is benign is simply silly. A race that has the ability to send spacecraft across the solar system, yet has – recently and currently – given us mass genocide, terrorism, “anti-fascist” fascist violence, and a host of other delights, is, in my opinion, proof that being “advanced” doesn’t automatically make a culture peaceful.
I hate the term AI because that is not what they have developed they have only created various VI’s when and if they ever do create a true AI then it will be like a child being raised by a bunch of arrogant programmers for parents who’s only expectation of this new child is to become a killer of humanity. What happens when we treat a real child that way? A self fulfilling prophecy.
I’m so glad Zo brought up the crops. Just like a lot of people don’t realize the level of corruption in our government, a lot have no idea that our food chain is slowly killing us.
We don’t allow the soil to rest or rotate crops. We use all kinds of chemicals & pesticides on crops. We use GMO seeds. Put said GMO crops into basically all processed foods (corn syrup & white sugar from GMO corn and beets).
Most of the blame can be put on companies like the one who bought the dreaded Monsanto. BigAg bought up all the small farms, force the buying of new GMO seeds every year (farmers can’t keep back seed to plant the next year).
GMO seed requires special chemicals for growing OR are engineered to repel bugs (so the chemical is built-in to the seed). In other words, the chemical is in the mature/harvested crop.
Big Ag keeps farmers in debt, so they’re forced to comply or lose their land.
Why does Bill Gates own so much farmland in America? Had a Ted Talk about how vaccines and “family planning” (aka: abortion) could reduce the population by 10% or so?
Ever watched a vid on how farmers are forced by BigPoultry to raise all the chickens we eat? Plenty on You Tube.
Who benefits from the food that makes us sick?
Same people who are making BILLIONS on a vaccine that doesn’t even “cure” a disease that has over a 99% recovery rate.
“…our food chain is slowly killing us.”
What?
So, is our future “Colossus: The Forbin Project” or “Wally”?
Or “With Folded Hands” by Jack Williamson, or “Voyage from Yesteryear” by James Hogan?
And the rest of the Colossus trilogy is an interesting read.
In book 2, the computer is disabled and it civilization has trouble because the computer had taken over a lot of the machinery of civilization.
In book 3, the computer winds up being a major ally with humanity against the Martians, and negotiates a solution that doesn’t involve taking half the planet’s supply of oxygen.
