Jordan Peterson shared this animation by Nina Paley to his audience. I found it to be fascinating. Despite the synopsis on Vimeo, I didn’t find “the Goddess” to be a major part of the movie, which is mainly a telling of the story of Exodus. My favorite parts are the conversations that artist has with her father, which are interspersed throughout the movie. Their voices are from a recording that she made before he passed away. She animates herself as a baby goat (literally, a kid), and her father as God made out of money. While the movie certainly talks about patriarchy, it is not expressly anti-patriarchal. It’s more of an expression of one woman’s experience with her family and her Jewish heritage. In other words, it’s art, and very good art in my opinion. I thought I would share it with you.
One word of warning: there is some nudity and depictions of male circumcision that make the video unsuitable for young children.

Simply amazing. I love the soundtrack, Pat Boone’s The Exodus Song (This Land Is Mine) brought back memories with my mom playing that album. I love Andy Williams singing it as well.
