In the wake of the attempted murder of Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh by an abortion advocate, Bill Whittle finds a survey that shows just how many Americans would approve of assassination to silence political opponents. Want to guess the percentage?

I am not surprised by this at all. The rule of law is dead. Where there is no hope for equal justice, alternative systems arise.
Leftists believe that a mother should be allowed to have her child’s brain sucked out of his skull, and then have the corpse dismembered and sold off for parts like an auto chop-shop. It should be NO surprise then, that such vermin are capable of ANYTHING. They have a total vacuum of decency and honor.
Before even viewing the episode, just based on the premise, my gut reaction is;
Challenge Accepted.
Do you really want to bring that to the table, leftists? Do you really want the ones who own all the “evil black weapons of war” guns thinking about how to make the shot on some political hack?
Cuz we can. And we will.
They’re communists…No respect for life. Censorship. Propaganda. Drive for a straight democracy (Senate filibuster, electoral college, packing the Court to circumvent the Constitution). Weaponizing the justice system against political opposition. Following the communist, globalist Agenda 2030 with its fake emergencies of equity, infrastructure, climate crisis and pandemic preparedness to grab and centralize power, cultural revolution blaming opponents as the problem.
Do we know what the comparable statistics were, say, 25 or 50 years ago? Is it changed, or are we just more aware of such sentiments?
No, it’s not okay… but it is to them, and has been for years, and will be for the foreseeable future. I strongly suspect that the Democrat figure is lowballed, that it represents not those who think assassinating those they disagree with is okay, but merely that subset that is willing to admit that they think so.
And realistically, until those who disagree with them unleash an actual, real life bloodbath on them, to the point where those who survive go into hiding and would rather be tortured than admit to having ever been “progressive,” that’s the way it will be.
The only reason so many of them are still alive, much less in power, is because so many conservatives are unwilling to be the first to say goodbye to their principles and their integrity to solve the problem.
“Middle class America is no less violent than any other people. They seem passive because they’re results oriented. They rise not out of blood frenzy but to solve the otherwise insoluble. Their methods of choice are good will, cooperation, forbearance, negotiation and finally, appeasement, roughly in that order. Only when these fail to end the abuse do they revert to blowback. And they do so irretrievably. Once the course is set and the outcome defined, doubt is put aside. The middle class is known, condemned actually, for carrying out violence with the efficiency of an industrial project where bloody destruction at any scale is not only in play, it’s a metric. Remorse is left for the next generation, they’ll have the leisure for it. We’d like to believe this is merely dark speculation. History says it isn’t.” – Ol’ Remus, The Woodpile Report
Once a critical mass is reached (sometimes known as a “preference cascade”) the result will be both long and very unpleasant. I keep hoping that I’ll be dead of old age by then. But then, once the USSR fell, I had dared hope that I wouldn’t live to see the collapse of American civilization, and yet here I am.

Murder, to reduce the tendency toward assassination?
Does armed revolt not fit that description?
We revere those people who pledged “their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor” to ending “a long train of abuses and usurpations.” I’m not a history expert, but I don’t remember anywhere that it said their actions consisted of taking off their hats and saying “pretty please”.
Please understand, I’m not advocating for it, condoning it or looking forward to it. I’m saying I think that will be the end result whether any of us like it or not.
And I suspect the reason it hasn’t started yet is because everybody knows once it starts, you can’t go back.
“Stopping a battle is much harder than starting it. Starting it only requires you to shout ‘Attack!’ but when you want to stop it, everyone is busy.” – Terry Pratchett, Monstrous Regiment
None of that changes the fact that the soap box, the ballot box and the jury box have all provably failed, and everybody knows it.
How out of touch am I? It never occurred to me that assassination would be an option.
See, typical narrow-minded conservative. 😉
Haven’t used a Heinlein quote in a while, but this fits:
Attempts to formulate a “perfect society” on any foundation other than “women and children first!” is not only witless it is automatically genocidal.
Nice show gents – the “waste”paper of record had this story on page 20. When even Bill Maher calls you out, you know you missed bigly.
Great comment and Heinlein citation.
Does anyone here know one way or the other that there were women or children that did not make it into the Titanic life boats and thus perished?
Either because their places were taken by “men” or there just were not enough life boats in any case.
Quite a few steerage (3rd class) passengers, including women and children died on the Titanic. One: several exit doors were blocked. Some got trampled and some just did not get out in time. Two: in the early stage, life boats were not filled to capacity. Some that went into the water were rescued by some of those boats, but in any case, there were not enough lifeboats
You mean besides Rose, of course! 😉
I kid, I kid. Yes, with what Harry said below. We went to a cemetery in Halifax that has quite a few buried there. Definitely women and children among them.
“They’ve got their date in court coming.”
What? Not likely in this lifetime. Meanwhile our children and grand children are currently threatened by a flood of policies that are making food and energy increasingly scarce.
I am conflicted by two realities:
Self preservation is an extremely-strong motivator.
No, not happening. See the Sussman trial. Hillary could eat a live puppy sandwich in front of the jury box and they’d have been okay with it.
Why would policy-makers be perceived as threats? Could it be the gut knowledge that elections in places like California and Pennsylvania are terminally rigged, and that nothing will be done to change that? The gut feeling that people’s preferences just don’t count any more?
And the cherry on top of that is the D.C. is an equally repulsive cesspool of immorality and tyranny that wants control of all aspects of American life.
I don’t think that the Lefties are thinking this one through. Do you really wany to normalize assassination against the side that owns most of the guns?
Just like a Leftist to bring whine to a gunfight…..
I think they should (and will) get Darwin’s Awards. For in effect killing themselves in a stupid manner.
