Bienvenidos…Now, Adios! DeSantis & Abbott Send Illegal Immigrants to Progressive Utopia

Martha’s Vineyard receives a surprise gift from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who sent a busload of illegal immigrants to the upper-crust Massachusetts summer home village. After a brief Bienvenidos Brunch (read photo opp), the undocumented folk were sent packing to parts unknown. Is DeSantis’ relocation program the most brilliant political move in recent memory? Are he and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott starting a long-delayed conversation about the collision of Utopian Progressive ideas and real life?

I would have liked to hear thoughts on the massive number of flights Biden and company have sent to states in the middle of the night. It has totally been glossed over in the press, and was missed here as well.

I noticed that he MA Guard took the Venezuelans to Joint Base Cape Cod. A Federal establishment. You think if Abbott declared an emergency and had the TX Guard round them up, would Ft. Hood under the Biden Admin accept all these immigrants?

I just read an article in The Epoch Times saying that Venezuela is emptying their prisons and sending the criminals to the US border. And unless these illegals admit to their crimes it’s pretty much impossible to know which ones are criminals. How can anyone in their right mind think that unfettered access to the border is a good thing?

  1. They are ILLEGAL ALIENS not migrants
  2. They need to be VETTED every single one of them
  3. Sanctuary cities are ARE ILLEGAL

Why not just send ALL these ILLEGAL ALIENS to all the ILLEGAL SANCTUARY CITIES!

Real “migrants” go through a real legal process! Damn it, GRR

BTW – a reminder from an old guy with some memory left, don’t let the socialist left memory hole who they have always been.
Your friendly reminder that the incident below, from early 2000, occurred under AG Janet Reno and POTUS Bill Clinton.
For you young folks, use your favorite search engine for “Elian Gonzalez”

Living in Minnesota (ugh) some of us have been ranting about the problems of the southern border states only to have the majority not even wanting to hear it. As bad as this state has been getting with crime, gangs, and politicians with agendas that don’t include the wellbeing of the citizens, until it actually affects people personally, they could care less. When it does affect them, they hide. It takes guts and work to fix this problem and frankly, few people of Minnesota are up to the task. They stay closer to home, tsk tsk at the crime reports and check the democrat boxes on election day.

I was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota and grew up in that state. I left for a very long time but later I would raise my family in the north central part of Minnesota. Minnesota, if you can stand the winters, used to be a very good place full of very good people if you stayed away from the Twin Cities, Duluth and parts of St. Cloud and Moorhead. I don’t know from what you said if you’re from one of those urban areas or someplace more rural.

Minnesota has the same political issue that many States do in that it is now ruled by a blue urban majority which screws up everything for everyone. Including the dummies that voted for those blue politicians.

Minnesotans, God bless their little hearts, are known for being nice but intelligent? Yeah, not so much.

The thing that may be needed there is hiding just below the surface. You can only push people just so far and no further.

Don’t forget that it was Minnesotans who ended the Jesse James and Cole Younger outlaw gang. When the James Gang rode into Northfield Minnesota their career as a criminal enterprise came to a screeching halt in just seven minutes of intense gunfire. A local merchant spotted the robbery in progress from outside and yelled “Get your guns, boys! They’re robbing the bank!” Armed Minnesotans responded immediately and those not armed were laughing as they snatched rifles, shotguns and ammunition off the shelves of the local hardware store and went to the street in search of outlaws to do battle.

(This is a story I know well and take great pleasure in recounting to people, especially Southerners, when they look down on poor, frigid, hick Minnesotans.)

After more than 145 years Northfield still celebrates this event every year on the weekend after Labor Day.

Minnesotans can fight. Getting them to do that is another matter. They’re slow to anger but terrible in their resolve when they’ve finally had enough.

This turns Saul Alinsky right back on them, which is EXACTLY … what Saul Alinsky would do.

1) make them live up to their own standards.
2) pick a venue which will be highly visible when they don’t.

Couple other points. Does anyone know or have access to the list of where Joe has flown the illegals over the past year or so? Or is that not for public knowledge.
Next, I am very happy to see that the illegals are suing as they say THEIR constitutional rights have been violated. At least they are protected by the constitution as it seems impossible for US citizens to get the same protection.

Because that would be de facto deportation and the States don’t have the power to do that to them. Considering that they probably wouldn’t consent to being deported anyway, and did consent to being flown to Martha’s Vineyard it is not the same thing to just putting them on a charter flight back to where they came from. There would be considerable legal backlash if that were attempted.

The Democrats are being trolled. It would be a serious mistake to give them ammunition to use against us by doing such a thing. What Desantis did was smart, deporting them against their will would be a stupid thing to do with serious repercussions. Because of a thing called “Rule of Law” which I assume because you’re here you support.

No matter how deserving it actually is or how much that is exactly what most of us would like to see it would be the wrong move and do our side more harm than good.

This is one of those frustrating examples where if you do the thing that is actually the best thing it will harm our side and make no mistake the Democrats will take full and excessive advantage of it just like they did with the January 6th disorder.

Doing something like that could actually take down Ron Desantis and I don’t see that as a net win. So it’s not a matter of what is right, it’s a matter of coming as close as possible by doing what is smart.

It’s rare that a politician does something that is all at once hilarious, appropriate and carries justice to the unjust.

A Florida county Sheriff is “investigating” De Santis for what he claims is “unduly luring migrants” to cooperate with De Santis scheme of making Leftists live up to their own virtue signalling.

This is problematic because of the “unduly” aspect of this Sheriff’s approach.

“Unduly” is an arbitrary standard. So … That Sheriff has to meet that standard arbitrarily. Which means he needs to find a judge who will agree with his interpretation of what constitutes “unduly”.

Which is clearly intended as an end-run around statutory law under the color of law, not actual real law itself.

The Left is getting disturbingly good at this sort of application of legal force under color of law.

I don’t think this Sheriff will succeed but this is a very real ‘heads up’ for everyone to keep an eye on this sort of maneuver.

Curious, do you happen to know if this Sheriff is elected or appointed in that jurisdiction. If elected, someone should run against on the arbitrary nature of his complaint and that it indicates a lack of “gravitas” for the job.
Hehe – I like using their terms to bite back. 😉

All but one county in Florida elect their Sheriffs. Miami – Dade is the one that does not. It’s a sort of a city/county political entity like Virginia has. I.E. in Virginia the Chesapeake county government was merged into the Chesapeake city government to avoid redundancy of services.

The one in question investigating Ron Desantis is from Bexar county. So, yeah, he’s elected.

I also like using their own tactics against them (but do not condone stooping to their perfidy) and just wrote another of my rants to that effect in the comment section for this week’s Backstage episode.

Actually, this is a sheriff in San Antonion, Texas who is doing this. San Antonio! Where they had a whole truck full of illegals die on his watch.

I imagine that most of the civil rights type lawyers are similar to ambulance chasers in that they don’t need to depend on the pockets of the customer, but of the target.

Baack when we had the waves of Syrian “refugees” I proposed sending a few thousand to Rehoboth Beach, The Castro District in SF, or Dupont Circle, DC – all big gay communities. I’d pay good money to watch the next Pride March walk through their new neighbor’s neighborhood

The Babylon Bee had a field day with the Martha’s Vineyard episode. My favorite was the picture of the immigrants getting back on the buses because they would rather take their chances with the Mexican cartels than the Martha’s Vineyard HOA.

Or how they turned down Gavin Newsome since they’d just escaped Socialist Hell Holes with no electricity

Cali still has lights so that would be ok… the competition from the homeless and drug addicts though would bother the aliens as much as the regular residents I suspect.
