People,
Many of you may have already read this essay by Bill. It was written after Katrina, so it goes back aways, but if you haven’t do so, right now. Please.
Moving. Passionate. Insightful. Stirring. This is one sheep who thanks God for our Sheepdogs.

Ahhh…THAT is the Bill I know and cherish. What I wanted, at the time, is for US to have the courage to turn Baghdad, Tehran, Kabul, AND Mecca into a smoldering radioactive slag heap of green glass. What we got was a pulled punch that took us almost two decades, trillions of dollars, and thousands of our dead to almost accomplish.
The thing about bullies, large and small, they only respond to superior force being directly applied. They need to be knocked down so hard that they are afraid to get up again. Then if they do get up, they need to be dealt with so they can NEVER get up again. Sadly, we are not quite there.
Rather than fearing our enemies will get angry, we need to act in such a way that our enemies fear they will make us angry so much that they will sh*t blood even at the thought of doing so.
Thanks for posting the link to that essay!
I came on board much later, in the last decade when he was doing Trifecta and Stratoshpere lounge…
The three lines I still remember from reading the first time way back then:
“having a Pink president (careful!) ”
and
“and charm the pants (you heard me!)”
along with:
“The Grey Tribe motto is, near as I can tell, THINGS BREAK SOMETIMES AND PLEASE DON’T LET IT BE MY BRIDGE.”
