Is Ralph Northam setting up a false flag crisis?

I’ve seen it. Some Facebook friends have seen it. Republican Virginia State Senator Amanda Chase is talking about it. Here. Ralph Northam is putting any left wing people he can find in uniform for Monday’s 2nd amendment rally. Note how ill fitting some of the uniforms are. Northam is genuinely afraid or determined to break […]

Steven L. Kwast on space force.

Why they need space force. Steven L. Kwast hints that there is technology that China is using that the west is not. I wonder what? Bill Knows. We could have used nuclear rockets decades ago but chose not to use it for safety reasons. The technology is there we need to act. We may have […]

The One Weapon Every Virginian Attending Monday’s 2nd Amendment Rally MUST Carry

If you haven’t heard, The combination of The Democratic Party’s long march to take over Virginia, combined with the state and national Republican Party’s long term plans to surrender the state to the Democrats, have resulted in Democrats seizing (to use a favorite term of The Left) both houses of the state legislator in the […]

VEXIT

Folks, as a resident of Virginia, I would like your reaction to the following.  In reaction to the laws currently being passed in Richmond to provide “common sense” restrictions on guns, West Virginia has offered to take in the counties of western and southwestern Virginia.  This would allow our rulers from Fairfax county to make their laws in peace, and it would allow those who are “bitterly clinging” to our guns and religion to join our less-enlightened brethren.  So, what do you think?

Magnetic & Electric Universe Series

I’ve been meaning to post this for some time and just haven’t taken the time since it’s not the “business” of maintaining our freedom, but simply really stinkin’ interesting! If you’re interested in space, as Bill Whittle has obviously proven himself to be, or interested in the unfathomable glories of God, or both as I […]

Brave Browser for Privacy and Profit Sharing

As some of you know, I’m in the cybersecurity field. I’m always looking for better and safer ways to do things in the interwebs. I try to avoid Google, as much as is possible (it’s pretty hard actually), and one of the things I do is avoid using Chrome, and avoid using Google for my […]

Astros should forfeit World Series Title

Pitching great (3,000 strike outs ) Kurt Schilling, a man of many percentages, says the Huston Astros signal stealing is equivalent to the 1919 Chicago Black Sox scandal. He said in a four game series about 600 pitches would be tossed at Astro’s hitters. if the Astro’s just hit 10% of what they knew was coming that would be the difference between winning a losing the series. The Astros need to forfeit the title.

A brit speaking about the history of the right to bear arms

This is much a test as anything else, but I came across this video at the same time I saw the simpler Youtube linky feature so I thought it would make a good test.

A Brit (so he gets a few things wrong, though commenters do post corrections) lists some of the historical events that led to the various laws and regulations in England.  Some of the history was new to me (and other bits refreshed my memory) so I thought it might be interesting to others here.

Greater and lesser poets

I once read a poem about a horse who poked his head through a barbed wire fence to nibble grass on the other side. Something spooked the horse and he jerked his head sideways, tearing a jagged hole in his neck. The author of the poem witnessed the event when he was a child growing […]

West Virginia Senator invites Frederick County, Virginia to consider joining the Mountain State.

Good Day Everyone!

Got a bit of local news that I think is interesting enough to share quickly, so please forgive my formatting/spelling as I relate my -probably half baked- snapshot of thoughts that make up my first post to here:

Senator Charles Trump, of Morgan County WV, appears to have done a little bit of digging and came to the conclusion Frederick County VA never exercised their invitation to vote and join West Virginia at the time of the Civil War secession.  Thus, he set forth a resolution to invite them to complete their vote in light of recent discontent in Virginia (IE, see news on 2nd Amendment Sanctuaries for instance).

I’ve attached the resolution proper and some local news links at the end of this post so folks could get a scope on the comments as they bubble up.

As a West Virginia native, I reckon my views could carry a bit of bias on this matter.  However, trying to set that aside to a degree and as a bit of experiment of thought, I would think this gives Frederick County a unique card to play in the leverage game.  If they have the political power to walk at any time, why not use it?  Presumably, you could negotiate with West Virginia legislature to ‘sweeten the deal’ of taking the vote and moving across lines, I suspect, as there is no reason the county shouldn’t try to look out for its own best interest.  Simultaneously I suppose you could put some pressure on the larger Virginia legislature to take your local concerns with a greater degree of weight as there is another offer on the table.

I suspect I’m perhaps too mercenary in that armchair speculation as community identity, state pride, education provision, funding and tax changes all complicate the process of moving states immeasurably — but would this give Frederick County a political crowbar of sorts (perhaps unfairly?), or is it just a bit of a flash-bang of media attention that is best left to fade away quickly?

Either way – gave me some distinct Twilight Zone vibes this morning, and would be curious if there were other thoughts sparked from this from folks that are farther from the epicenter (and close too, if you happen to be so!).

Take Care Everyone!
