Central London tonight…

Just a quick link to Mahyer Tousi’s reporting of pro-Palestinian demos in London tonight. Tousi is a very sound British/Iranian Youtuber etc.

Overall, so far, I’ve been reasonably ok with the UK media’s coverage of the situation in Israel. What has happened is such that even the most demented soppy “Teach the world to sing” muppet can see what’s happening. It has been funny seeing people wake up to just what Hamas are and believe. They just don’t make ” I told you so” cards big enough.

That said, there was an almost audible sigh of relief from the BBC/ITV etc. when Israel reacted and there were the usual “innocent” Palestinian casualties for them to to report on. There was one very lovingly posed shot of the rubble of a Mosque with singed pages of a Quran in the foreground…awww. That dripping sound? It’s my heart bleeding…

Don’t feel too bad about the BBC/ITV bias. It’s bad, it’s evil but it’s not rare or special.

I watched an Al Jazeera coverage of the Israeli counterstrikes yesterday and it was so incredibly biased that it barely mentioned the hundreds of Israelis killed intentionally and in cold blood by Hamas terrorists. All the while showing grisley views of the bodies of dead noncombatants in Gaza nonstop in loop after loop.

The sad thing is that at least on this side of the pond a lot of Conservatives think Al Jazeera is the most credible unbiased “news” available. If you’re watching Al Jazeera you’re consuming the most virulent propaganda lies.

I watch things like Al Jazeera because I think it’s important to know just what propaganda lies (not all propaganda is lies btw) are being fed to people. Doing this helps me understand just where they get their absurd ideas and combat those ideas with actual truth.

Did you get shot by a stray round? Attacked by an “asian immigrant” following the dictates of his faith? I will pray that you recover from this deadly heart injury.

That’s sarcasm, of course.

I think one of the problems is that so many people do not take their religions seriously and what they do take seriously do not consider a religion to Gaia or their own Self or whatever they’re worshiping. It makes it harder to understand that when someone says “Death to the infidel” they do mean a real, physical, death and not just a “speech is violence” type death of internet reputation. Possibly the deaths of the various visiting non-Israelis at the music festival will wake up their family and friends but I hold little hope for the rest of their cohort. I hope to be wrong, and that the gay groups in particular realize that the enemy of my enemy (as they see it) can still be my enemy and if my friend only one of convenience… before they end up beheaded or stoned as an example to others.

Imagine if Israel had done nothing. Just waited to exact justice but didn’t react immediately. What would the press have reported?

They’d be trumpeting how Israel deserved this barbarism because the IDF unavoidably killed human shields that Hamas terrorists have hidden behind in the past.

The corrupt press would ignore the fact that Hamas always uses human shields for propaganda purposes and the slant would be something like “How to you like it when your own civilians are slaughtered just as you’ve done to those poor downtrodden people in Gaza?”

Just like Conservatism suffers from here in America, the nation of Israel is in a lose-lose situation with a corrupt press. Like us, Israel is damned if it does and damned if it doesn’t.

I don’t think the press situation is going to change in our lifetimes. About all we can do is expose the lies and corruption to dilute its influence.
