This is the first time I have seen @Jack sober. He usually speaks in a drugged-up state. Thanks Joseph for the post.
Grr….
Maybe him being honest for once is better for all of us?
We already know what his objective is, and “secretly honest” with a co-worker (which will probably get canned for this) is one thing. Why not go public for the rest of the people to hear/see? I guess at this point, it doesn’t really matter.
It matters in terms of who he can fool.
He has fooled a lot of people because when he was seeing going after anyone he was seen by enough people going after the right sort of person.
Now maybe everyone knows he was always just an asshole.
He is not even the biggest player in the Tech Magnate Game, I heave heard said.
I do believe all these evil CEO’s either work for (or are paid by) one or more 3-letter agencies.
They all believe in a one-world government and that they are above/smarter than all “those other cattle” in the world.
That’s why it’s a must to take down “the deep state” or “MIC” or whatever tag you have on it.
The tentacles stretch out as far as we can’t even imagine.
The head of the snake must be cut off and the head isn’t the CIA, etc. They are merely rattles on the rattlesnake.
Cut off the head and the snake dies.
Otherwise the snake will simply shed its current skin.
Or the CIA works for them now?
Either way a lot of people have been taught that people who want something for nothing end up getting nothing for something.
Having never had a twitter account or any desire to have one, I have to admit that I find none of this surprising. Disturbing but not surprising. The worst part is their ability to shut down direct competitors such as Parler which, in essence, makes it impossible to fight them directly.
What does it take to be an ISP?
I am being serious.
There are the physical components, and there are legal and regulatory components, I am certain.
But is there room in the bandwidth for newcomers who have the kind of resources that were wasted trying to put Mittens in the White House (Mark Steyn got the ball rolling for me in this stream of thought) to add new ISP’s with less Dictatorial Ambitions?
There’s the huge problem of building infrastructure but that might be much less of an issue now with 5G coming on line – skip the millions of miles of cables that have to be installed to be independent and all the gubmint interference in that. Depends on how trustworthy the 5G providers are, I suppose.
Then there’s the equipment you can’t avoid: computers, servers, routers, etc. And staff.
The ultimate hurdle is, of course, the gubmint.
Can you shop for governments if the 5G comes on line.
Mexico allowed what they called “Border Blasters”, one running at 500,000 Watts until that government and ours came to an agreement about Radio.
You could fry up a chicken on that sound board, at least that is the legend.
Wolfgang Jack got his start there, and there is a song about it.
The equipment? Think about how much money the Romney Campaign wasted on hair gel for that lutz.
Maybe the next ISP can be Free (not w/o cost, of course – Free Stuff has got Conservatives in a world of trouble) because it is not American.
I am a history buff, and not just the kind everyone might think. I am the kind of person who would find the old pneumatic tube tunnels the Post Office ran from 34th Street to Harlem just to find a way to get around NYC without being seen.
Just bring thck wader overalls … there be varmints down in those tunnels.
Radio station XER went on the air across the border from Del Rio, Texas in 1931. It broadcast at 500,000 watts. Clear Channel radio stations in the U.S. were and are only allowed to transmit at 50,000 watts. Those of you old enough to remember car radios and night AM stations, probably remember driving cross country through the night switching from WLS Chicago, to WWL New Orleans, to WOWO Ft. Wayne. Alas, the latter hasn’t been a clear channel station for over 20 years.
Having a clear channel was big. You could broadcast father and with less interference than other stations. But when XER came on the air it blasted everything close to it. It was able to reach all parts of the US but was beyond the reach of U.S. regulators. Watch the Ken Burn series Country Music for how this station was started by an American, John Brinkley, to market the first family of country music the Carter Family. The effect of the 500,000 watt beast of broadcasting was that you could hear it while standing next to a barbwire fence and reportedly children could hear it from the metal braces in their mouth. Think of a boarder blaster like a 500,000 watt light compared to a 50,000. Contra Metallica things don’t fade to black but white.
