CHINA Has Learned the Important Lesson of 9/11

If you attack the West in a new and interesting way, the West will cripple and bankrupt itself, or worse… enslave itself… to regain safety.

  1. Liberals or socialists want safety by pacifying enemies or bribing them.
  2. Conservatives want safety by killing or persecuting enemies.

Either way, they want safety and are willing to spend money they don’t have to gain it.

They Pursuit Safety, but it is Merely the Illusion of Safety

My wording was provocative, but my intent was to make a point about liberals and conservatives. Both, for different reasons, have been willing to take the US debt from 5.7 trillion in 2000 to 22.7 trillion in 2019 mostly in the name of safety – whether you define that as the war on terror, the ballooning of sovereign debt after the financial crisis, or the absurd (in retrospect) response to COVID19.
China learned from 9/11 that if you present a novel thread to the US and the West in general, you can cause both liberals and conservatives to spend enormous amounts of money to capture an illusion of safety; what a friend of mine who works for TSA says they call it — “Security Theater.”

I would be very curious about your definitions of liberals, conservatives and socialists. I don’t understand how you can lump liberals and socialists together in this regard.
Seems to me it’s the socialists that love putting people in camps. CCP, Soviets and Nazis all had/have camps and mass graves. Seems it’s the socialists that pursue the killing and persecution of their enemies more than anyone.
It’s cowardice that leads to the attempted bribery of enemies more than political philosophy, in my opinion.
I don’t even understand why you would make that assertion about Conservatives. Seems to me a proper conservative pursues safety by have a strong military and firm boundaries so that potential enemies will think twice or three times before attacking. The goal being that enemies don’t ever get to attack us twice. The whole point of this exercise by conservatives is in fact the opposite of killing or persecuting our enemies. It is deterring them from attacking us at all so we don’t have to kill or persecute them. Peace through superior fire power.

I don’t believe there is a genuine “liberal” left alive as in soft hearted soft headed left of center “can’t can’t we all just get along?” types. They have either become a complicit part of the insane left of left or have become the much too soft part of right of center.

The fact is that we aren’t all getting along and it is not MY fault. I just want to live and let live, associate with the willing, trade value for value at mutual benefit, and to get on with my life. Otherwise stay out of my life, my pocket book, and my face!

I don’t know about you but I want my enemies either dead or so crippled they are afraid to act like an enemy. I have no love for them and no need nor duty to take care of them. They can all go to hell and pay for the trip!

The CCP have made an industry of bribery and extortion across the US, EU, South America and Africa. It is far easier to pay off enemies than spend what is necessary to confront them.
The CCP learned from capitalism, fascism, and communism’s failure economically. They imprison domestic political enemies like the Uighurs and Falun Gong, but they prefer to buy off enemies, just like the EU and liberals in the US typically have made a habit of buying off foreign and domestic constituencies.
As for conservatives, see my response to Michael below.

What people want and what people will settle for are not remotely the same thing. Look at what the CCP does where they are unopposed. That’s the best indicator of what they want. Besides which the bribery and extortion as practiced by the CCP is to extend their influence worldwide not to get the rest of the world to leave them alone. They’re literally creating enemies with their bribery and extortion.
Conservatives are not in favor of big government. Don’t confuse big government Republicans with conservatives. I believe conservatives are people with the political philosophy of conserving the ideals of the declaration of independence, the constitution and moral society needed to support those ideals. I can still only guess about what you’re talking about with conservatives because you still don’t define how you are using the terms.

The military industrial complex, the intelligence industrial complex, and the usual regime of military deployments, sanctions and clandestine operations around the world. The funny thing is that so much money is to be made in these sectors that liberals have gotten on the bandwagon to the point we have a sizable contingent of “Republicrats” in office where the D or R doesn’t really make a difference on foreign relations. Witness the bipartisan blow-back and sniping at Trump’s plan to finish exiting Afghanistan.
As for liberalism, the CCP is essentially looking to buy the West, and many here on both sides of the aisle are willing to cooperate. Witness the Republicrat kowtowing to the CCP.

I don’t consider such people to be conservatives. A lot of those are Neocons, who might as well be Democrats. In any case, they’re statists who don’t give a damn about individual rights. They want more and more government power and the fortunes that can be made from it, home or abroad.
