China’s military leaders see their #1 one threat in Elon Musk’s network of Starlink satellites, which provides wireless broadband service to a growing number of customers around the world. It’s not just the freedom of information Starlink may provide to the kept masses of the Chinese Communist party, but the potential Pentagon use of the satellites as a deterrent to Chinese ballistic missiles. How long before Washington D.C. starts to view Starlink as a threat?

Can’t stop the signal. Reever hamsters and killing the messenger plays out with “Serenity”
Stephen, I think the term you are looking for to describe Elon Musk is: Crazy like a fox!
One of the most eye-opening books you can read to get a feel for what the Chinese people will experience when they get the opportunity to find out about life on Taiwan is “MIG Pilot” which is the story of Victor Belenko the Russian pilot who flew his MIG-25 in Hakodate airport back in 1976. He describes what the average Soviet citizen’s life was like and what he experienced as he was able to become a fighter pilot. What he went through when he defected really tells a great story, and it is, I think, something akin to what the Chinese citizens stuck in the Red China will experience when they are finally free.

Watching the joy Bill gets from his buddies’ cleverness always makes me smile.
Not much to add other than:
Kilroy was here.
Just like y’all, I can’t stop smiling that China considers a civilian-created entity the biggest threat to their military. The massive expense required to fund amphibious landings of massive armed forces deployed quickly is soon to be displaced by (mainly) tech. While that may indeed morph into giant satellite eating, national budget sucking, end of the world space wars, it is trending towards peaceful possibility today.
Grateful.
