The Schempp’s and the rest of the petitioners including the psychologist they hired feared that little Jimmy or Susie might hear one day about Christ on the morning announcements and start asking questions—oh, excuse me—be mentally damaged for life. They must not have been very good parents if they thought they couldn’t overcome their children hearing various Bible passages by teaching them their own beliefs about Judaism or whatever at home.
