A CNN poll of 1007 registered voters shows that incumbent President Donald Trump loses a theoretical head-to-head race to nearly every leading Democrat presidential hopeful for the 2020 election…one by a HUGE margin. Can Republicans safely ignore polls like this, or does it tell us something about the electorate that Trump can ignore only at his own peril.

Love Bill’s reference to accuracy and that it only takes one “possible” number (as opposed to the incredibly accurate ones) to push the all the numbers to possible, not accurate. Pilot think.
I would like to see a Firewall explaining the scientific method and how a poll, or climate change “science” is pure bunkum, without mentioning the “climate debate” itself or using the term “climate change.” Outlining, as Bill does here, that 5000 studies based on one or two flawed datasets are all themselves flawed and meaningless, and also starting with the premise that the scientific method requires a scientist to look for things to disprove his hypothesis. Maybe later segueing into mass hysteria/hypnosis caused by everyone buying into the invalid conclusions from the flawed data and calling it “science” when in fact it isn’t science, but religion.
Climate change is not the only hoax with which “scientists” have harmed the general population via their flawed methodologies, often by selling their unproven theories backed by flawed studies to governmental bodies from the FDA to the US Senate. High cholesterol, saturated fats, “Vitamin” D, “all germs bad,” “double-blind studies only valid method,” changing the definition of “bread” and “food” to include innumerable non-food substances, etc., etc. Scientists sell an idea in which they sincerely believe with all the passion of religious fervor, to a gullible government, media, and public, and the government makes it worse.
How do these flawed studies get published in peer-reviewed journals? Why do their peers not call them out on it?
Feeling very cynical this morning!
I read last week that in May of 1983 , John Glenn was leading President Reagan by 15 points! We all remember President Glenn. Of course that was a year before the Ronaldus Magnus sweep. ( personally I think Minnesota was stolen for Mondale)
Unfortunately, John Q Public is so deluded that he can’t see the deception through the scales in his eyes. John Q Public doesn’t deserve Donald J. Trump.
Beware of the indoctrinated elitists, financially spoiled narcissists-18 yrs- – 35 yrs. plus 5 million illegal invaders, democrat victim/lackey’s
Nice slip about O’Rourke! I’ve been calling him “Beto Male” since he was running against Cruz
The purpose of any poll now is to help set the agenda, that all of the dozens are capable of winning.
The truth is, any poll that is not polling 1009 people in each state and amalgamating that as if it was the electoral college is useless. A “national” poll measures the popular vote only. Not the actual method by which we elect a president.
I don’t know any conservative including myself that take any of those damn polls and I’m sorry to say I know of many idiots that take the polls in many different names/emails etc. to push their negative crap.
A CNN pole is a Unicorn.
I’ll give you one more: One of the joys of being newly retired for me is being available and having the time to answer these survey calls and mails when I get them. I make a point of telling them the exact opposite of what I truly believe to skew their polling. Sometimes I have to really be careful to keep from laughing out loud.
I do that too. They gobble it up. The questions are usually so slanted that I feel free to take liberties with the accuracy of my answer. I can’t help it if their buried bias caused me to be confused about my answer.
You are not alone. In other cases people respond with socially virtuous answers such as, “Certainly I will vote.” There are reasons the most respectable polling organizations, Gallup and Rand Corp, no longer do election polling.
Before the 2016 election, about 6 months, I got called by a pollster. The young lady sounded like she was in her mid-20s. I answered her questions up to the point of her asking my opinion of how important the secret server was. She audibly gasped when I said Hilary should be in prison. We had a five minute conversation about classified info. I know I didn’t sway her, but i scared her.
The poll is blatant propaganda intended to buck up the troops.
Some people never learn… But honestly, if we get complacent thinking that Trump can’t possibly lose to this band of misfits, it might happen.
